Data Operations SpecialistJob PurposeThe Data Operations Specialist is responsible for managing the data dictionary, metadata, reference data, and master data across the Bank. The role coordinates with data stewards to ensure alignment with business requirements and provides advisory support on maintaining and managing these data assets to ensure accuracy, quality, and proper utilization. Additionally, the specialist supports data quality initiatives, defines quality metrics, and ensures accurate implementation of data quality standards.Roles and Responsibilities1. Policies, Processes, and Procedures• Ensure work is performed in line with approved policies, processes, procedures, and instructions.• Review continuous improvement opportunities for systems, workflows, and practices based on leading practices.• Facilitate knowledge transfer to new employees and reporting staff.• Follow up on escalated issues to ensure timely and effective closure.2. Data Operations Management• Conduct first- and second-level data analysis to identify potential data quality issues.• Develop KPIs for monitoring data quality across departments.• Prepare validation checklists to ensure data and processes align with policies.• Collaborate with business owners to define data quality rules and exceptions.• Participate in root cause analysis and document recommendations.• Review data profiling controls and results.• Conduct awareness sessions on data quality best practices.• Provide recommendations for resolving data quality issues.• Oversee the preparation and maintenance of data quality reports.• Support quality assurance functions and data quality management.• Contribute to employee development in data quality practices.• Define and review protocols, procedures, and quality standards supporting the bank’s data strategy.• Introduce simplification and automation opportunities for data quality assurance.• Work with data engineering teams to prevent and resolve data issues.• Promote data quality awareness across business units.• Monitor and report key data quality performance indicators.3. Metadata & Master Data Management• Maintain the metadata dictionary and define sources, attributes, and priorities.• Develop metadata governance frameworks including classification and preservation.• Support data stewards in managing the metadata lifecycle.• Collaborate with IT to configure and implement the data dictionary tool.• Verify completeness and accuracy of metadata.• Create dashboards and indicators to monitor metadata management.• Support creation and maintenance of master data and ensure consistency across systems.• Work with data engineers on master data models.• Support reference and master data governance plans.• Manage master data tools and provide technical support.• Train users on master data processes and promote compliance with governance policies.• Identify improvement opportunities in data management practices.4. Additional Duties• Support colleagues across the bank when needed.• Provide inputs for reporting related to operations, achievements, and decision-making.• Perform other tasks as required and when needed.• Support capability development and knowledge transfer.• Monitor compliance with data management and personal data protection regulations.• Implement the data management program in alignment with relevant laws and policies.• Manage open data requests and support the open data program.Qualifications and RequirementsExperience: +4 years of experience in Data Management, Data Analysis & Reporting, or related fields.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, or related fieldRequired Competencies• Information Systems Knowledge — Proficient• Data Management — Advanced• Data Analysis & Reporting — Proficient• Performance Monitoring — Advanced• IT Change Management — Proficient
