About the company A leading European provider of advanced infrared sensors and panoramic detection systems. Their solutions support armed forces, system integrators and critical infrastructure operators across land, air and maritime environments. The company is expanding its presence across Poland and the wider Eastern European region due to rising demand for situational awareness, perimeter surveillance and early warning technologies.Role overviewThe company is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead growth across Poland and neighbouring Eastern European countries. This person will be responsible for identifying opportunities, developing customer relationships and securing new defence and government contracts. The role combines strategic market development with hands on sales execution and regular engagement with military and technical stakeholders.Key responsibilities • Build and execute a regional sales plan for defence and national security customers across Poland and Eastern Europe • Identify new opportunities with ministries, armed forces, border security units, system integrators and local industrial partners • Lead the end to end sales process from initial engagement through to proposal submission, demonstrations and contract negotiation • Maintain strong relationships with operational users, procurement teams and capability managers to ensure solutions align to mission needs • Develop partnerships with regional distributors, resellers and technology integrators where beneficial • Represent the company at defence exhibitions, demonstrations and customer visits across the region • Work closely with engineering and product teams to position solutions effectively and gather intelligence on customer requirements • Produce accurate forecasting, pipeline reporting and market insight for the leadership teamRequired experience • Strong background in defence or national security sales within Poland and Eastern Europe • Established network within ministries, military units, border security agencies and local industry • Proven track record closing complex multi stakeholder sales cycles • Ability to engage technical and operational users and translate mission needs into commercial proposals • Comfortable working independently and building a regional presence from the ground up • Fluency in Polish and English with additional regional languages an advantage • Willingness to travel frequently across Poland and neighbouring countriesWhat the company offers • Opportunity to lead expansion in one of Europes fastest growing defence markets • High quality and well respected technology that already supports global customers • Strong internal engineering and bid support • Autonomy, clear progression and the ability to shape strategy across the region
