ResponsibilitiesStrategic SupportSupport the Vice President (Impact) in developing SMU's societal impact blueprint, aligning with the university's strategic plan and collaborating with SOCIs to identify high-impact areas in education, research, and entrepreneurship.Impact GuidanceAssist in guiding SOCIs to execute impact-focused initiatives aligned with national and global agendas, ensuring support without duplicating existing efforts.Impact AssessmentHelp develop frameworks for measuring societal impact, oversee data collection, and support evidence-based documentation under the Vice President's direction.Stakeholder CollaborationFacilitate partnerships with internal (e.g., Schools, DKHMCC) and external stakeholders to enhance SMU's impact, supporting the Vice President's stakeholder engagement strategy.Communication SupportAssist the Vice President and communications team in disseminating impact stories and pursuing award nominations to amplify SMU's influence.Culture and Capacity-BuildingFoster an impact-aware culture across the university by embedding impact-conscious principles into policies and processes, designing and delivering faculty and staff training, and facilitating sharing and reflection.Team CoordinationManage the Office of Impact team under the Vice President's leadership, providing mentorship and ensuring alignment with office goals.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsMasters degree in a related field with at least 10 years of relevant work experience, including supervisory experience and experience in research universities; PhD degree an advantage. Prior experience in one or more of the following fields is preferred but not a must: research promotion, research communication, faculty affairs and support, impact evaluation, strategic planning, external partnerships of universities.Confident in dealing with senior faculty, senior administrators and external stakeholders; and demonstrated strong understanding of the workings of a complex university system.Strong strategic mindset with proven success in problem-solving, multi-tasking, and analytical abilities.Notable experience in general administration, project management and delivery, stakeholder engagement and relationship building.Adept at designing and scoping projects, timelines and deliverables.Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.Resourceful, independent worker and a team player, with strong collaborative and influencing skills that enables collaboration with a wide range of partners.Other InformationCandidates who do not possess the stipulated qualifications but have relevant work experience may still apply.
