Deputy Farm Manager

Demerara Dairy Inc., a subsidiary of Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) will soon be operational and would like to invite interested persons to apply for the position of Deputy Farm Manager. Main responsibilities: Assist the Farm Manager in implementing operational directives and ensuring smooth execution of farm and herd-related duties. Oversee daily herd management activities, including movement, allocation, monitoring of animals, and maintaining accurate herd records and inventory.Work closely with feeding, veterinary, and milking teams to coordinate herd grouping and animal health follow-ups. Manage the use and upkeep of farm assets and equipment and coordinate maintenance needs, and maintain proper conditions across barns. Minimum qualifications and experience:Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science or Veterinary Health from a recognised university or the Guyana School of Agriculture. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a management role in a farm setting or similar field. Strong technical knowledge of utilities and maintenance best practices.Leadership and team management skills to motivate and guide a diverse maintenance team. Familiarity with safety regulations, environmental standards, and compliance requirements in a dairy farm setting.
