Our ProfileIn 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.To Ensure The Achievement Of This Large-scale Project, G Mining Ventures Is Looking For An Experienced And Motivated Individual To Fill The Position OfHeavy Duty Equipment OperatorWe are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Duty Equipment Operator to join our operations team at our mine site. The successful candidate will operate a variety of heavy equipment used in surface mining, ensuring efficient, safe, and productive operation in compliance with all regulatory and site-specific policies.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate heavy mining equipment such as haul trucks, loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, and/or drills in a safe and effective manner.Perform pre-operational checks and complete equipment inspections and safety documentation daily.Load, haul, and move materials such as ore, waste rock, or overburden efficiently.Maintain proper communication with dispatchers and team members using radios and other systems.Monitor equipment gauges and indicators to detect problems and report mechanical issues promptly.Follow all company safety protocols, environmental regulations, and Mine Health & Safety legislation.Assist with minor servicing tasks (greasing, fluid checks) as needed.Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and hazard assessments.Maintain clean equipment and work area to promote safety and efficiency.Qualifications/Skills And ExperienceValid driver's license (Class MT/ML)Proof of competencies, (e.g. operating certifications), would be an asset.AdditionalStrong understanding of workplace safety practices (e.g., hazard recognition, lockout/tagout procedures).Ability to work in physically demanding environments and varying weather conditions.Experience working on a rotation schedule and in remote locations is an asset.Working ConditionsPosition based at the OKO Project site.Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days OffTransport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.Compensation Package1-year contract for the construction period, with the possibility of a permanent position once the mine is in operation.Competitive SalaryCompetitive benefits, bonus and group insurances.
