Job Description

Objective:Reporting to the Commercial and Supply Chain Manager, the Operations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating production activities, monitoring performance metrics, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, and facilitating communication between departments to optimize production efficiency and product quality.The role also includes overseeing and leading vessel unloading operations in Georgetown, as well as at the ports of Berbice and Essequibo. This involves leading the operation across all fronts—coordinating with tally service providers and CEMEX staff—while ensuring full compliance with industrial safety standards, unloading procedures, and risk management protocols.Main Responsibilities include:Coordination of Production bulk loading and the discharging of the vessels·        Coordinate daily plant operations to ensure that production targets are met·        Monitor production process and troubleshoot operational issues with technical team·        Participate in daily and weekly production meetings and provide operational updates.·        Overseas the work order and the operations information systems.·        Coordinate the operation of the discharging of the vessels. Guarantee the policy and the H&S of all the employees directly and indirectly.·        Lead and coordinate the bulk loading process in the truck tankers. ·        Lead and execute the offloading of the vessels with the standards of Cemex in terms of H&S and the process of the accountability of the records. Coordinate the trucks and the port with our supervision.Planning and maintenance·        Planning and scheduling preventative maintenance with the technical team·        Overseas the establishment and implementation of suitable predictive maintenance programmes for the plant·        Reviews process and quality control parameters that are to be used in production runs and ensures that quality specifications are met.·        Ensures that Plant is operated at optimum levels to achieve targeted cost per ton.Inventory Management in the operation and the discharging of the vessels·        Reviews and approves movements from internal stock of consumables or acquisitions to stock of consumables.·        Support quality control efforts by ensuring procedures are followed and reporting any deviations.·        Liaise with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of materials and dispatch of finished goods.·        Lead the process of the offloading of bulk and sacks vessel cement. Coordinate the discharge and lead the process with the most efficient and safety priorities·        Lead the process accountability of the discharging of the vessels.Health and Safety·        Coordinate with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) teams to enforce compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. Training and Development·        Assist with workforce planning, including shift scheduling and coordination of training for operators.Sustainability·        Identify and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.Others·        Maintain accurate records of production data, shift reports, and operational KPIs.·        Prepares annual cost and capital budgets and reviews production costs against operations budget.·        Involvement in activities / jobs which are not intrinsically inherent in functional responsibilities but which have the potential to enhance the company’s public image and develop the individual e.g. Community Work, participation in National Bodies and Professional Organizations.·        Leading all the discharging of the vessels in Georgetown, Berbice and Essequibo, within stipulated H&S guidelines.·        Ensuring the TGI terminal is maintained in optimal condition, fully aligned with Health & Safety (H&S) protocols as well as housekeeping and site management standards. This includes leading all contractors involved in executing activities to ensure terminal performance.Required Education / Expertise / Skills:·        Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Project Management or any related field·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel - Advanced)·        Experience with SAP software would be an asset·        Great teamwork and leadership skills·        Must be able to work flexible hoursRequired Experience:Minimum experience of 5 years in industrial environment, with 3 years in direct supervisory roles.
