In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.To Ensure The Achievement Of This Large-scale Project, G Mining Ventures Is Looking For An Experienced And Motivated Individual To Fill The Position OfSite Service General ForemanThe Site Services General Foreman is responsible for aligning the OKO West Mine in all aspects of Site Services consistent with the business goals, vision and values and with GMIN`s Strategic Objectives and with the Corporate Governance system. The incumbent will bring the OKO West Mine to a world class standard in Site Services this includes supervising activities requiring the use of lifting equipment, carpentry, plumbing and electrical services to support the camp, office buildings and efficient management of the company's Potable Water Treatment Plant. The Site Services GF also ensures all aspects of Site Services activities adhere to policies and procedures. In addition, the incumbent aligns Site Services personnel with GMIN`s risk management policies and proceduresKey ResponsibilitiesThe safe loading and unloading of all cargo trucks on the mine-siteThe procedures are adhered to whenever fusing of the tailing and related pipe lines are requiredPrompt response to any emergency requiring the use of any/all utility equipment assigned to Surface SupportOversees the activities of workers in ensuring the tidy condition of equipment assignedSafe and efficient operation of the company's potable water treatment planEfficient pit dewatering activitiesManages all building construction activities and provides supervision to contractor's employees whenever neededProper procedures are followed when excavation and backfills are requiredEnsure prompt response and interaction with Mine and Mill departments when requiredProvide training and guidance for plumbing, carpentry, electrical and rigging activitiesCoordinate repairs and maintenance all equipment in the kitchen and laundryInspect & coordinate maintenance of the power lines and roadsEnsure department’s compliance with the requirement of Government of Guyana Agencies, GMIN`s lending institutions, shareholders’ environmental, health and Safety legislation and company regulations.Qualifications/Skills And ExperienceMinimum 10 years’ experience with increasing responsibilities.Experience in construction is an asset.International experience is an assetAbility to apply basic principles and techniques of supervision.Ability to effectively and efficiently coordinate the activities of othersStrong organization skills.Ability to communicate with all levels of the organizationIn-depth knowledge of construction methods including concrete pours, plumbing and electrical installations, etc.Handle multiple projects with tight delivery times.Develop internal/external networks to ensure success of team.Advanced computer skills.Working ConditionsPosition based at the OKO Project site.
