Job Description

Haque Group of Industries is looking for DGM/GM of Quality (Food/Bakery & Home Care)Job Description / ResponsibilityStrategy & LeadershipDefine and implement quality & food-safety strategy aligned with business goals across all product lines.Lead, mentor and grow the Quality organization (QA/QC, laboratory, microbiology, and sensory teams).Set quality targets and KPIs; report performance to management.Quality Management Systems & CertificationsMaintain and advance quality systems: ISO 9001, ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, and relevant ISO standards for home care products.Lead external audits and certification renewals; ensure successful customer and regulatory audits.Drive internal audit programs and supplier audits.Product Safety & ComplianceEnsure products comply with local and export regulations (food safety laws, consumer product safety, labeling standards, Bangladesh standards and any export market requirements).Oversee raw material specifications, vendor qualification, incoming inspection, and supplier quality programs.Manage allergen controls, cross-contamination prevention, and chemical safety for detergents/soap.Quality Control & LaboratoryOversee QC laboratory operations (microbiology, chemical, physical and sensory testing): ensure method validation, calibration, and test accuracy.Approve/maintain sampling plans, test methods, shelf-life/stability protocols, and release procedures.Manage CAPA, OOS investigations, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.Manufacturing Quality AssuranceImplement process controls on production lines to ensure consistent product quality (Biscuit / Bakery / Detergent).Work with Production & Engineering to optimize processes, reduce rejects, improve yields and lower variability.Approve manufacturing change controls and new product introduction (NPI) quality requirements.Customer & Market InterfaceHandle customer complaints, claims and returns investigations; maintain SLA with customers for R&D/quality support.Provide technical support to sales and marketing on product claims, labeling, regulatory dossiers and promotional material compliance.Risk Management & RecallsMaintain crisis management and recall procedures; lead product recall response if needed.Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation plans for contamination, supply chain, and process risks.Cost & BudgetPrepare and manage Quality department budget; optimize lab and QA spend without compromising standards.Approve capital spend for quality-related equipment and lab upgrades.Educational RequirementsBachelor/HonorsBachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent. Master’s preferred.Experience Requirements10 to 15 year(s)The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):Group of Companies,Food (Packaged),Beverage,Bakery (Cake, Biscuit, Bread)Required Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum 10–15 years experience in quality, QA/QC, food safety in FMCG manufacturing (biscuit/bakery strongly preferred). Experience with detergents/soap or home-care products is a must or highly desirable.At least 5 years in a senior leadership role (Assistant General Manager / DGM / GM level) managing multi-site or multi-product portfolios.Hands-on experience with ISO 9001, FSSC/ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and internal/external auditing.Practical experience in laboratory management, microbiology, shelf-life testing and sensory evaluation.Exposure to regulatory frameworks for both food and home-care/chemical products.Technical Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP, PRPs), chemical safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices.Deep understanding of raw material specifications, vendor qualification and supply-chain quality systems.Analytical problem-solving (root cause analysis, statistical process control, Six Sigma knowledge desirable).Experience with ERP/QMS software and lab management systems.Excellent communication skills; able to translate technical issues to senior management and non-technical stakeholders.Leadership, team development, stakeholder management, and project management skills.Performance Indicators (KPIs)Customer complaint rate (complaints per million / month).Number of critical non-conformances found in audits (internal & external).On-time certification and audit pass rate.OOS / rejection rate as % of production.First-pass yield / product acceptance rate.Time to resolve CAPA / corrective actions.Lab turnaround time and accuracy metrics.Working RelationshipsClosely with Operations, Production, R&D, Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing and Legal.External: certification bodies, regulatory agencies, suppliers, contract labs and customers.Behavioral TraitsIntegrity and attention to detail.Proactive, decisive, and calm under pressure.Continuous improvement mindset and customer-centric orientation.Job LocationGazipur (Tongi)
