What You’ll DoPerform diagnostic radiography procedures independently using established protocols. Apply critical thinking and judgment to ensure accurate imaging and patient safety. Interact with patients and team members with compassion, dignity, and respect. Administer oral and rectal contrast per physician orders and departmental policy. Ensure proper coding, documentation, and image archiving for all exams. Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures and ease concerns. Technologists hired prior to graduation will work under indirect supervision by an ARRT-certified diagnostic technologist until degree verification is complete. Cannot work in an outpatient setting until ARRT certification is obtained. Licensure, Certifications, and ClearancesARRT Registry Eligible as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain radiography registry within 6 months of hire (effective January 1, 2025). Diagnostic Technologists hired prior to January 1, 2025, must obtain registry within 12 months of hire/transfer date. Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required within 30 days of hire, based on AHA standards (includes didactic and skills demonstration). If working in a New York facility, must hold certification from ARRT or NMTCB and be licensed through the New York State Department of Health.
