You're looking for more than a role, you want to be part of a growing, forward-thinking company solving real-world challenges to improve how farming works, today and for the future.The Director, Business Systems & IT is responsible for driving forward the business systems IT and cybersecurity strategy to support the corporate strategic plan. The Director develops IT policies, manages budgets, oversees cybersecurity, and leads teams in designing, implementing, and supporting business systems. The Director establishes the technology architecture and standards for business systems to facilitate the flow of operational data with scalable and dynamic processes that can rapidly evolve to meet changing business requirements.What you will do:Leadership & ManagementDefine business system architecture and technology standards for a multi-platform, best of breed landscapeServe as the business partner to other senior leaders, collaborating to facilitate and implement solutions Mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary team to support their professional growth and career development Monitor operational KPIs to drive continuous improvementManage the technology budget to optimize technology investmentsStay current in the emerging technology trends to inform the business strategyEnterprise Applications & SystemsOversee the enterprise applications and systems operations and lifecycle Assess and develop technology roadmaps to support business growth and efficiencyAlign application roadmaps with enterprise architecture standards, compliance and security Architect robust, scalable solutions to meet business needsPartner with cross-functional teams to streamline business processes, reduce workarounds, and implement best practicesNegotiate with and manage relationships with technology vendorsOversee budget and staffing requirements, including use of external contractors or vendorsSystem Administration & IT SupportManage daily IT operations, including systems, networks, and hardware/software supportManage IT staff, including continuous learning and development plans Develop technical specifications, and ensure compliance with data governance and security policiesOversee the functionality, security, and maintenance of critical enterprise applicationsProvision, monitor, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services for business systems (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data protection and business continuityConduct risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategiesDevelop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data lossCybersecurityDevelop, implement and maintain the organization's cybersecurity strategy, policies and proceduresConduct regular vulnerability assessments, manage risk, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirementsLead response efforts, including detection, containment, investigation, and recoveryManage security personnel, security budgets, and third-party vendor relationshipsRequirementsWe want you to succeed, so you will need:Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related discipline10+ years of experience as a technology leader with demonstrated success in strategic planning and executionProgressive responsibility managing technology operations for global operationsExcellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levelsExperience building and executing technology roadmaps, which include enterprise applications, data management and information securityExperience managing ioS, Windows, Android and Linux operating systemsExperience managing SaaS business applications, ERP platforms and integrationDemonstrated experience in leading teams, guiding digital business transformationSalary range: $165,000 to $180,000 per yearWe publish a salary range to provide transparency and represent the full growth potential of the role; as a result, offers are made based on demonstrated mastery and experience and generally fall near the midpoint.BenefitsWhy this is the opportunity for you:Purposeful Work: Make a global impact by advancing sustainable food productionOur People: Work with a fun, collaborative, and supportive teamRecharge: Generous vacation policy, company-paid holidays and year-end winter breakWork Flexibility: Hybrid working arrangements and strong work-life balance culturePrioritize Your Well-Being: Access comprehensive health plans designed to support your physical and mental healthGroup RRSP, which includes a 3% company paid match after three months of employmentOffice location that is convenient via transit and bike pathsAt Semios Group, we value the full range of experience and perspectives people bring—not just what's listed in a job description.
