Oversees and directs the work of teams spanning physical and virtual desktop machines, printing services, peripheral care kits, and software asset management. Establishes and delivers organizational goals, metrics, and determines opportunities for improvements, assigns individual responsibilities, and provides training opportunities for associates. Determines and acquires resources needed for projects and support activities. Participates in the development of policies, procedures, standards, controls, and best practices. Supports IT related business planning requirements including, but not limited to budgeting, scheduling, and workload planning.What You Will DoLead regional desktop related projects and/or technology initiatives and apply innovative solutions to drive efficiency for the RGA workforce.Perform supervisory duties including, but not limited to hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining of direct reports. Mentor associates within the department. Demonstrate leadership in desktop hardware and software technology at RGA. Assists with updating desktop technology standards documentation internally. Implements new technology appropriately.Maintain and foster internal client relationships. Facilitates information flow with customers, IT Service Owners, IT Leadership, and other partners to ensure clients’ objectives are met. Analyze and manage software version control and mitigate desktop-related vulnerabilities expediting the reduction of risk across the global environment.Executes against established strategic and long-range goals and direction for Desktop Services area of Global Technology.Analyzes customer and business requirements, and assists team functions in the determination of priorities and application of resources. Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.Master’s degree, LOMA certification, ITIL V4 foundation certification preferred.10+ years Information Technology or related systems experience with an emphasis on desktop software management, physical and virtual machines, and other desktop related services.5+ years management and technical leadership and supervisory experience in Information Technology.Advanced project management skills. Demonstrates ability to evaluate project objectives, gain understanding, schedule resources, and manage budget to plan.Advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by the customer.People management skills, demonstrating an ability to lead, mentor and develop staff. Advanced ability to work well within and manage a team. Ability to manage multiple projects and/or sub-teams simultaneously, including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility. Ability to adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions.Extensive knowledge of desktop-related industry standards, enterprise desktop services, and how to effectively deploy in a global setting.Experience negotiating with third-party providers regarding service delivery and contract terms.
