The Consulate General of Israel to New England serves as the official representative of the State of Israel across Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Our mission is to strengthen the enduring partnership between the United States and Israel by fostering a deeper understanding of our shared values and mutual interests.A cornerstone of our work is building robust connections between Israel and New England's vibrant academic community through dialogue and collaboration.Position Overview:The Consulate General of Israel to New England seeks a dynamic Director of Academic Affairs to join our Boston office. This full-time position offers an exceptional opportunity to shape and advance Israel's engagement with one of America's most prestigious academic regions.As a key member of our political team, you will work closely with our Director of Strategic Partnerships to strengthen, expand, and deepen connections between Israel’s and New England’s academic world. You will serve as a liaison to the academic community, developing innovative programs and partnerships that promote mutual understanding and meaningful dialogue.Responsibilities:Enhance the Consulate’s visibility and engagement across university and college campuses throughout New EnglandEstablish and nurture strong relationships with student groups and campus organizations and partnersCoordinate, plan, and execute high-impact events, conferences, lectures, and cultural programs that advance the Consulate's academic engagement objectivesServe as a trusted, accessible resource for students and campus partners seeking information, collaboration opportunities, or supportProvide expert counsel to the Consul General and Deputy Chief of Mission on academic affairs, campus trends, and emerging issuesRepresent the Consulate at academic events, conferences, panel discussions, and campus programsMonitor and report on relevant academic developments and opportunities throughout the regionQualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited institutionDemonstrated understanding of the American higher education system and campus cultureExceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiencesProven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skillsSelf-motivated professional who thrives both independently and as part of a collaborative teamProficiency in leveraging social media and digital platforms to achieve organizational goalsPreferred Qualifications:        Familiarity with IsraelPrevious experience in higher education, student affairs, or campus programmingEstablished network within New England's academic communityAdditional Requirements:Applicants cannot hold dual Israeli and U.S. citizenshipFinal appointment is contingent upon successful completion of security clearance proceduresApplication Information:Deadline: December 22, 2025How to Apply: Please submit your resume/CV and a cover letter to pr@boston.mfa.gov.il
