DescriptionJOB TITLE: Director of Business DevelopmentDEPARTMENT: SalesREPORTING TO: SVP of Sales and MarketingPrimary Function Of PositionAs a business development director at Libra, you will be an individual contributor responsible for uncovering and closing opportunities for Libras’ services. Your focus will be on customers in the Industrial, Medical, Semiconductor and Aerospace and Defense markets. Typical customers have TAMs of 10M or greater who value engineering expertise, customization, management at scale, and value-add services.This is a hunter/acquisition role that requires a strong understanding of the EMS industry and customer outsourcing strategies. The ideal candidate is based in the Midwest (TX, OH, MI, MN, IL, IN, WI) and has existing customer relationships in the EMS marketplace.Responsible for ensuring customer trust and satisfaction, this role involves maintaining contact with customers at a high, Executive and Director level focusing on the strategic nature of the relationship, and at the engineering level. Typically, the sales approach is more consultative than transactional, dealing with complex and lengthy purchase decisions where the emphasis is on value and finding comprehensive solutions.Description Of DutiesDefine, develop and implement a sales strategy, which contributes to the corporate sales’ strategic direction.Qualify new potential customers with guidance from Sr. Management.Develop an understanding of the Program Management and business unit strategies as it pertains to sales.Work closely with Operations and Quote Development team for proposal development.Provide regular updates to SVP of Sales and Marketing on the execution of the strategy.Develop a sales pipeline that drives both short and long-term financial goals.Prepare timely forecasts for the sales department.Interpret and communicate customer requirements to support the development of proposals to present value proposition to customers.Own the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract closure, ensuring alignment with Libra’s growth objectives.Lead commercial negotiations with new and existing customers.May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Skills/Experience PreferredEMS and related services experience.Experience in managing customer relationships, understanding their unique requirements, and providing tailored solutions to meet their outsourcing needs.Strong negotiation skills to effectively close deals, negotiate contracts, and establish mutually beneficial agreements with customers.Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for building relationships, delivering sales presentations, and addressing customer concerns. Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, supply chain and executive leadership.Proficiency in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.Familiarity with customer relationship management (Salesforce -preferred) software, sales analytics tools, and other relevant sales technologies.RequirementsEducation & Experience RequirementsMinimum 10 years’ experience selling EMS services into the target markets.BS Degree or equivalent work experience.Experience acquiring and growing new customers.Experience closing multi-million-dollar transactions.US citizenship required.Work EnvironmentThis position will work in both front and shop environments.In the shop, you will be exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, machines, and material handling vehicles. PPE is required in this shop area. Physical RequirementsWhile performing duties of this job, the employee is required to have good hearing and sight. You will need to be able to walk the shop floor and be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
