Position: Business Development DirectorLocation: United States (East Coast preferred; remote flexibility available)Industry: Life Sciences / Contract Research Organization (CRO) / Pharmacovigilance ServicesAbout our ClientOur client is a rapidly growing Contract Research Organization (CRO) offering end-to-end pharmacovigilance and regulatory solutions to pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies across the US, UK, and Europe.Their integrated service suite covers case processing, aggregate reporting, signal detection, risk management, compliance monitoring, regulatory services, PV consultancy, and advanced technology platforms, ensuring clients consistently meet global quality and compliance standards.Role OverviewWe are seeking a high-impact Business Development leader to spearhead U.S. expansion efforts, with a focus on establishing strong relationships and driving revenue growth within the pharma, biotech, and medical device sectors.This role is ideal for an experienced professional with deep connections in the pharmacovigilance ecosystem and a proven ability to close large-scale outsourcing deals.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a strategic business development plan to grow the U.S. client base for pharmacovigilance and regulatory services.Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities with mid-to-large pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies.Build trusted, long-term relationships with Heads of Pharmacovigilance, Drug Safety, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Development, and Procurement.Deliver compelling presentations and solution demos that articulate the company’s value proposition and technology-driven differentiators (AI-enabled safety and automation platforms).Lead end-to-end sales cycles—from prospecting and RFP coordination to contract negotiation and closure.Partner with internal operations, compliance, and SME teams to design client-centric proposals and service solutions.Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and webinars, strengthening brand visibility in the pharmacovigilance market.Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads in CRM systems and provide accurate revenue forecasts.Achieve and exceed assigned quarterly and annual revenue targets.Required QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related discipline.10+ years of business development or client acquisition experience within CROs, pharmacovigilance, regulatory services, or life sciences outsourcing.Demonstrated success in securing new clients and managing key accounts in the U.S. life sciences industry.Strong understanding of drug safety and regulatory outsourcing models.Excellent relationship management, negotiation, and presentation skills.Self-driven, disciplined, and capable of operating independently in a remote or hybrid setup.Preferred QualificationsPrior experience with international client portfolios (UK/EU) and global PV operations.Familiarity with FDA, EMA, MHRA, and ICH compliance frameworks.Experience selling outsourced drug safety or regulatory services powered by automation or AI.Why JoinBe part of a fast-scaling global CRO recognized for innovation and client success.Lead business expansion in one of the most strategic life sciences markets.Competitive compensation with performance-based incentives and growth opportunity into leadership.
