Major Gift OfficerDepartment: AdvancementSupervisor: VP of AdvancementSalary Range: $90K-$100KSummaryThe Major Gift Officer is a self-directed and goal-driven fundraising professional who will serveas a core member of the Advancement Department. Reporting directly to the VP ofAdvancement, the MGO is tasked with expanding Archbishop Carroll’s individual major donorbase of five-to-seven-figure gifts. The ideal candidate will have significant experience as a front-line fundraiser, demonstrated success with major gift solicitations and program creation, andstrong communication skills.Roles & Responsibilities• Secure major gifts at the $50k+ level• Manage portfolio of approximately 100-150 donors and prospects• Manage systems and software to track and cultivate donors and prospects, includingdonor database and wealth screening tools• Create and implement moves management plans, including identifying and qualifyingnew prospects, cultivating and soliciting prospects and existing donors, and developingstewardship plans• Make direct, face-to-face solicitations, and assist the board and other staff with theirsolicitations (e.g. provide portfolio development support, strategic counsel, and helpwith donor communications)• Acknowledge major donors through public and private recognition• Prepare proposals, reports, letters, emails, etc for prospects and donors• Track and report progress using key performance metrics• Work with the advancement department to align efforts and set goalsQualifications• Bachelor’s Degree• 5-7 years of experience in a frontline fundraising role• A proven ability to develop and execute winning fundraising strategies and techniques,particularly in major gifts or capital campaigns• Excellent written and oral communication skills• Ability to travel to meet donors• Knowledge of CRM software required• Campaign experience preferred
