Their team fosters a collaborative environment that empowers employees to take initiative, solve complex challenges, and grow their careers.Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Director of Procurement to lead strategic sourcing and supply chain operations. This role will focus on both domestic and international procurement with a specialization in commercial doors and related products. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in global sourcing, strong vendor negotiation skills, and a background in construction materials—particularly commercial millwork or architectural doors and frames.Key ResponsibilitiesSource and procure commercial doors, frames, and millwork products from domestic and international suppliersManage the full purchasing cycle: supplier qualification, negotiations, PO issuance, logistics, and delivery trackingMaintain strong vendor relationships, especially with overseas manufacturers and freight/logistics providersLead cost-reduction initiatives and vendor consolidation strategiesCollaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Sales, Estimating, and Project Management to align purchasing with project timelinesEnsure compliance with U.S. import regulations, customs documentation, and IncotermsAssess and mitigate supply chain risks, including development of alternate sourcing strategiesMonitor inventory levels and manage JIT purchasing to balance availability and inventory efficiencyImplement procurement best practices, ERP workflows, and supplier scorecardsSupport new product development by sourcing suppliers who meet quality and technical standardsRequirementsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field5+ years of procurement or purchasing experience in commercial millwork, building materials, or construction productsProven experience with international sourcing, ideally in Asia (China, Vietnam, Malaysia), Eastern Europe, or South AmericaDeep understanding of white-label and OEM manufacturing modelsFamiliarity with U.S. fire-rated standards and building codes (e.g., NFPA, UL)Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics)Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skillsAbility to travel internationally as needed (10–20%)Preferred QualificationsExperience with project-based or custom commercial millworkKnowledge of freight forwarding, logistics, and customs complianceProcurement certifications (e.g., CPM, CPSM) or Lean/Six Sigma trainingFluency in a second language (Mandarin, Spanish, etc.) is a plusCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary + performance-based bonusHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid vacation and holidaysProfessional development support
