Together, we advance disease prevention, sustainable livelihoods, gender equality, and humanitarian relief—reaching more than one million people annually.The Director of Program Operations leads the operational management of VWB’s international and domestic project portfolio. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role ensures high-quality, timely, compliant, and efficient delivery of programs across multiple geographies. The Director works closely with project managers, country teams, and cross-organizational functions to strengthen systems, improve project workflows, ensure data and reporting quality, and support staff and volunteers to deliver results.This role is the operational backbone of VWB’s programs—focused on execution, coordination, accountability, and continuous improvement across all project operations.ELIGIBILITY: This role is only open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Project & Operational Oversight (50%)Lead the full project cycle—from start-up to close-out—with strong attention to timelines, workplans, deliverables, and compliance.Maintain oversight of project operations, ensuring workplans, procurement, contracting, and financial processes run smoothly.Coordinate with finance, operations, communications, and fundraising to ensure efficient workflow and problem-solving.Monitor project budgets, compliance requirements, and donor obligations; address operational challenges as they arise.Support partner management, including operational coordination with locally led organizations.Contribute to emergency response operations within assigned programs as needed.Maintain consistent project documentation, systems use, and adherence to internal processes.2. Coordination & Operational Reporting (25%)Ensure monitoring & evaluation tools, indicators, and reporting processes are used correctly across projects.Oversee timely data submission, internal progress tracking, and donor reporting schedules.Review data quality and ensure reports meet operational and compliance standards.Work with teams to track progress against deliverables and flag delays or risks to the ED.Promote practical, evidence-informed adjustments to improve project efficiency and outcomes.3.
