This is a strategic leadership role responsible for scaling our recruiting team for Rocket Now, Japan’s fastest growing food delivery platform. In this pivotal role you will partner with senior business leaders in Japan and driving hiring across multiple locations.What You Will Do- Build and lead the recruiting function for Rocket Now Japan, including team structure, processes, and tools.- Partner with leadership across business, operations, and product to define hiring priorities and workforce planning.- Drive executive and strategic hiring, including leadership roles across functions.- Oversee mass hiring initiatives in partnership with the Senior Manager, Mass Hiring.- Champion Rocket Now’s employer brand and candidate experience in Japan.Qualifications- 10+ years of recruiting leadership experience (in-house and or agency), including leadership roles within Japan, with a proven track record of building and scaling recruiting functions from the ground up.- Experience operating in high-growth, fast-paced environments, ideally in tech, platform, or consumer-facing businesses.- Demonstrated ability to build recruiting strategies aligned with business goals, including workforce planning, talent segmentation, and pipeline development.- Strong business acumen with the ability to influence and partner with senior executives across functions (e.g., Operations, Product, Marketing).- Experience leading through ambiguity and change, with a bias for action and a builder mindset.- Proven success in managing and developing recruiting teams, including both strategic and high-volume hiring functions.- Deep understanding of Japan’s talent landscape, labor market trends, and cultural hiring practices.- Fluency in Japanese and English, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.- Comfort with data-driven decision making, including use of recruiting metrics and tools to drive performance and insights.Recruitment Process and OthersRecruitment Process- Application Review - Phone Interview - Onsite (or Virtual Onsite) Interview – Offer- The exact nature of the recruitment process may vary according to the specific job and may be changed due to scheduling or other circumstances.- Interview schedules and the results will be informed to the applicant via the e-mail address submitted at the application stage.Working Conditions- Employment Type- Probationary Period- Duration of contract (if applicable)- Other details will be provided separatelyDetails to Consider- This job posting may be closed prior to the stated end date for application if all openings are filled.- Coupang has the right to rescind an offer of employment if a candidate is found to have submitted false information as part of the application process.- Those eligible for employment protection (recipients of veteran’s benefits, the disabled, etc.) may receive preferential treatment for employment in accordance with applicable laws.- Job titles and responsibilities may be subject to change depending on the candidate’s overall experience and/or the necessity of business, etc. at the time of joining Coupang and/or after joining Coupang.
