Director, Project Valuation & Analytics

My client is a U.S.-based renewable energy IPP that has built a 16–17 GW pipeline of utility-scale solar and storage projects and is backed by a major asset manager. The company’s leadership is well established in the space with over 10 years of proven success, and has delivered over 10 GW globally and continues to structure long-term offtake deals.Role Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive underwriting and valuation analysis by assessing core economic drivers such as CapEx, production forecasts, revenue/PPA pricing, operating assumptions, and preliminary financing structures (tax equity and debt), ensuring accuracy and clarity in project economics.Collaborate closely with development, engineering, structured finance, and executive teams to validate assumptions, support internal approvals, and ensure alignment between technical inputs, commercial strategy, and financial outcomes.Oversee and guide the day-to-day analytical workflow for finance team members, providing direction, quality control, and mentorship on valuation deliverables, despite not holding formal people-management duties.Contribute to the evolution of internal valuation methodologies, processes, and tools, driving consistency and analytical rigor across the organization while supporting broader financial planning and corporate strategy initiatives.Qualifications5+ years experience in underwriting, ideally from an IPP or developerSolid understanding of tax equity and debt structuresDeep financial modeling experience across renewables, including the core levers in PV and storage.Ability to navigate across development, engineering, markets, and finance to form a well-supported valuation position.Someone who is curious, proactive, and analytical - a go-getter who wants to build, refine, and own valuation standards across the portfolio.
