Job Description

Position SummaryExecute all distribution activities including, but not limited to, receiving/stocking, inventory reconciliation, processing pre/post sterilized inventory, and picking, packing & shipping orders to customers. Will utilize an inventory tracking system and is responsible for ensuring the system is maintained, with full quality and regulatory compliance.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesTrack product history to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records; recommend corrective actions to resolve discrepanciesPrepare and pack products for shipment to customers globallyMaintain product tracking for all finished goods based upon donor and/or lot numberVerify customer shipments meet all regulatory requirements; prepare and execute all steps to facilitate and implement the shipmentMaintain inventory database with accurate product availability status; timely record changes in inventory activityCount and document raw materials, finished goods, and literature to ensure inventory accuracySend out tissues for sterilization; track their return in inventory databaseStock disposable supplies (gloves, shoe covers, gowns, etc.) for use in productionReceive shipments from suppliers, inspect items for damage, verify quantities and items numbers, complete required paperwork (packaging slips/purchase orders)Deliver maintenance repair and operational (MRO) items to appropriate individualsTransport materials (manufacturing/office supplies, tissue, mail, placenta) between internal facilities as requiredTrack and manage inventory of returned goods and work with Customer Service to process Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA's).Move released items to available inventory in the warehousePROBLEM SOLVINGPerforms simple, routine workSelects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instructionSeeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Any deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisorDecision Making/Scope Of AuthorityUnder close supervision, exercises limited latitude/independent judgement and decision makingWork typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior coworker and/or supervisorSpan Of Control/ComplexityEntry level support role requiring basic skills; can perform some of the basic tasks within the function; some impact at the job or department levelEducation/ExperienceHS Diploma or GED0-2 years of experience in area of responsibilityBasic understanding of computerized inventory management systemsBasic Understanding of the basic statistical and analysis termsPrefer 4-5 years of inventory and/or materials management experience in a business involving both domestic and international distribution pointsPrefer experience working in a regulated industryPrefer experience working in medical device industry or human donor tissue recovery and distribution industry (i.e. tissue banks)Prefer experience working in an International Standards Organization (ISO) or Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) environment preferredKnowledge of FedEx, UPS, and DHL shipping systems a plusSkills/CompetenciesExcellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to interact with all levels of management, internal and external customers; with a focus on customer serviceProficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word)Organized, flexible, and able to multi-task while maintaining a high level of efficiency and attention to detailProficiency with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems (QAD is preferred)Must show aptitude to develop appropriate skills needed for the jobWORK ENVIRONMENTThe work is typically performed in a warehouse and controlled lab environments.PHYSICAL DEMANDSMust be able to lift 30 lbs.Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to, or requirements for, this job at any time.
