Job Description

Role and Responsibilities Ensure that contracts between the sellers (suppliers) and Midstar are as per Midstar’s policies and agreed terms and conditions. Bring to the knowledge of the Management in case of any deviations.Ensure arrangements for freight/vessel/containers are made in time to avoid delay in shipment of orders.Timely nominate vessel to the suppliers with all the relevant details and inform buyers about the same.Receive from the Buyers and send to the Suppliers the Document Instructions in a timely manner ensuring accuracy of the same.Timely nominate surveyors at the load port and intimate suppliers for inspections.Timely obtain draft documents from the suppliers as per Midstar requirements and pass onto the buyers.Obtain reports from the Surveyors about cargo which include quality results and loading status.Cross check quality results of the cargo from Surveyors to ensure that the same are as per the contract.Obtain Shipment Appropriation from the suppliers and provide the same to the buyers.Obtain all Commercial/Shipping Documents from the suppliers as per contract and duly issued by the concerned authorities.Timely prepare Midstar Invoice and send to buyers along with the Shipping Documents.Coordinate with the suppliers for presentation of documents to Midstar bank for releasing payments.Send Payment Claims, as a copy, to the buyers along with the relevant documents to ensure timely receipt of payments from them.Follow up with the buyers and then with Midstar bank for confirmation of payment receipt.Arrange Letter of Indemnity from the buyers in case the original documents have not been received to enable discharge of cargo.Make settlement of demurrage dispatch with the suppliers or buyers, as the case may be, and close the file along with any other claims.Any other tasks and responsibilities assigned from time to time.Educational Requirements & ExperienceBachelor’s degree preferably in Foreign Trade or Business Management.Minimum 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in a medium to large commodity trading company.Experience in documentation procedures in a commodity trading and /or shipping industry. Preferred SkillsBroad understanding of the documentation procedures.Knowledge of GAFTA Standards.High level of proficiency in English language, both written and spoken.High level of proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Power Point, Word, and ExcelWorking knowledge of SAP ERP.
