Drone Specialist (Relocate to Senegal)

We are looking for a reliable Drone Specialist to support our agricultural project by conducting aerial surveys and collecting data to assist in land preparation, irrigation planning, and vegetation monitoring. The ideal candidate should have experience operating drones, creating maps, and processing data using standard software. This role is hands-on and field-focused, with an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful, large-scale project. Land Surveying and Mapping: Plan and execute drone flights to capture high-quality aerial images. Assist in generating orthomosaic maps, elevation models, and other geospatial outputs for land analysis and planning. [eg. Digital Elevation Models (DEM) and Digital Surface Models (DSM)] Technical Skills Application: Operate drones effectively and ensure compliance with flight plans. Use GPS-enabled systems to improve mapping accuracy. Data Collection and Processing: Process drone imagery and data using tools such as Pix4Dmapper, DroneDeploy, or similar. Organize and deliver maps, reports, and visualizations to the team for project use Drone Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform regular maintenance to ensure drones and associated equipment are in good working condition. Troubleshoot technical issues related to drone hardware, software, and sensors. Qualifications & RequirementsExperience 1–2 years of experience in drone operations for land surveying or similar applications. Experience in processing and interpreting aerial data. Certifications: Licensed drone pilot under relevant aviation regulations. Additional certifications in GIS or surveying are an advantage. Equipment Knowledge Familiarity with flight planning tools (e.g., DJI Ground Station Pro) and data processing software (e.g., Pix4D, DroneDeploy). Basic knowledge of GIS platforms like ArcGIS or QGIS is a plus.
