IMPORTANT: This is a contingent contract role. While we are required to list a hiring count, the full 9-month contract is awarded ONLY upon successful receipt of the ED/IES SBIR Phase IB contract (Award decision expected April 2025).Compensation: $62,500 Contract Stipend (9-Month Period)Role Type: Contingent upon ED/IES SBIR Phase IB Award (Jan 8, 2025)About the Project:Makeosity, Inc. (MWBE certified) is leading a federal R&D project to develop a Collaborative Multiplayer System for our Quantum Information Science (QIS) game, mAIgicly. This project addresses critical gaps in transfer of learning in advanced STEM education.Responsibilities: Serve as the External Evaluator for the 9-month Phase IB project. Deliverables include: 1) Designing a rigorous quasi-experimental pilot study (pre/post-test design). 2) Developing research instruments (QIS mastery tests). 3) Leading the analysis of mixed-methods data, including quantitative mastery scores and qualitative analysis of student reasoning from the Structured Discourse Layer. 4) Authoring the final Phase IB Research Report for eligibility to the $1,000,000 Phase II grant.Qualifications: Advanced degree (PhD strongly preferred) in Educational Psychology, Learning Sciences, or STEM Education Research. Proven expertise in evaluating technology-based interventions and experience with federal research standards (IES/NSF).
