With a strong focus on academics, arts, athletics, and technology integration (STEAM), UC prepares students to thrive as confident, compassionate, and capable learners.We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and visionary Elementary School Principal to lead our Elementary Division (Grades 1–6).Job SummaryReporting to the Director of Education, the Elementary School Principal serves as the educational and administrative leader of the division. The Principal oversees daily operations, faculty supervision, student experience, and ongoing improvement. This role ensures alignment with UC’s mission and contributes divisional goals and evidence to UC’s strategic planning and reporting.The expected start date for this position is July 2026.Key ResponsibilitiesEducational Leadership and Curriculum Excellence· Curriculum & Instruction: Implement and evaluate UC’s enhanced curriculum, ensuring vertical alignment and high-impact teaching practices.· Assessment and Data-Driven Improvement: Monitor and analyze student achievement data to inform instructional practice and ensure continuous improvement and student success.· School Culture: Build a safe, inclusive, and academically ambitious culture emphasizing character, citizenship, and student well-being.· Technology Integration (STEAM): Champion the use of blended technology, STEAM, coding, and robotics across subjects to strengthen problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.School Management and Administration· Personnel Management: Recruit, onboard, coach, supervise, and evaluate faculty and staff. Lead coaching and observation cycles with goal setting, look-fors, and documented growth. Provide ongoing professional development and foster a collaborative and high-performing team.· Operations & Budget: Oversee scheduling, supervision, resource allocation, and logistics within the approved divisional budget and established guidelines.· Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe, secure, and well-organized learning environment for all students, staff, and visitors, consistently upholding established policies.· Policy Implementation: Implement and uphold school policies, procedures, and conduct guidelines for students, staff, and faculty with consistency, fairness, and alignment to UC values.Community Engagement· Parent Partnership: Maintain open, proactive, and positive communication with parents regarding student progress, school activities, and important school matters, nurturing a strong school-home partnership.· Stakeholder Relations: Prepare clear, data-informed reports on learning, culture, and operations for senior leadership; contribute to stakeholder communications through evidence-based insights and proactive risk awareness.· Admissions & Retention: Collaborate with the VP and Dean of Students on open houses, classroom tours, and community events; showcase student achievement and growth to highlight program excellence.· Extracurriculars: Oversee and support a rich array of extracurricular offerings in academics, arts, athletics, and STEAM to promote student participation and development.Measures of Success· Instructional practice: ≥90% of teachers on a coaching cycle with two documented growth goals and evidence of progress.· Student outcomes: Demonstrable gains for identified cohorts in literacy and math on school benchmarks.· Culture & belonging: ≥90% favorable on student/parent items related to belonging, communication, and safety; reduction in office referrals.· Operations: Timetable and supervision plan completed by May; divisional handbooks reviewed and updated by June.· Admissions & Retention: Participation in 4+ divisional enrolment events with documented artefacts of learning.Required Qualifications and Experience· Master’s degree in Education, Administration, or a related field is preferred.· Current Principal's Qualifications/Certificate (or equivalent).· A minimum of 5 years of successful experience as a school Principal or Vice Principal, in a private or independent school setting.· In-depth knowledge of the Ontario K–12 education system and the operational, pedagogical, and governance practices unique to private schools.· Proven experience implementing the Ontario Curriculum and leading advanced or enriched academic programs.· Strong proficiency with educational technology tools and platforms that enhance teaching and learning, improve operational efficiency, and support evidence-informed decision-making.Skills and Attributes· Visionary instructional leader with a demonstrated record of advancing student outcomes, staff performance, and school culture.· Exceptional communicator and relationship-builder, fostering trust and collaboration among students, staff, and families.· Operationally adept, with strengths in strategic planning, timetabling, budgeting, and change management.· Data- and technology-literate, using analytics and digital tools to inform decisions and enhance teaching and learning.· Deep commitment to high expectations, equity, and character development, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and a growth mindset in all aspects of leadership.Why Join Unionville College· Collaborative, forward-thinking leadership culture.· Supportive administrative team and strong parent community.· Competitive salary, bonus eligibility, and RRSP matching.· Opportunities for professional growth and innovation.How to ApplyPlease submit your resume and cover letter through LinkedIn.
