This course is designed to address the philosophies, goals, curriculum documents, and methods of instruction and assessment of elementary and middle school (PreK to 8) mathematics. A critical, resource-based approach to this course will provide opportunities for students to reflect on and construct understandings of key issues in mathematics education.The assignment would involve planning, preparation and delivery of appropriate course instruction to students. Manage classroom activities to ensure an optimum learning environment for students. Evaluate student performance and provide consistent feedback. Awareness and implementation of culturally responsive approaches is an asset.Qualifications: It is preferred that applicants will have a Master of Education degree appropriate to the area of instruction. Applicants should also have experience in the education system appropriate to the content of the course, knowledge of, and experience with the Saskatchewan curriculum, and current knowledge of issues related to the course. Candidates must be approved by the University of Regina. University teaching experience is an asset.
