We started with a focus on topics ranging from CAD, CAE and IT programming for all of the group’s business units. Meanwhile, we have moved up in value to cater to advanced topics in vehicle engineering and IT technologies. We are now responsible for new methods in Design and CAE, software content for control units, head units and various critical engineering tools. Important components of digital dependencies on overall product development, is located now at MBRDI.The satellite office in Pune specializes in interior & exterior component design, wiring harness, IT for Sales. The establishment of MBRDI is in line with the Mercedes - Benz group’s ambition to attract the world’s best engineering talent and form a global footprint for its R&D and IT competencies. MBRDI also aims to partner closely with suppliers in India for its activities in product development and IT services. We are now one of the largest developments centers outside of Germany, employing over 8000 skilled engineers aside from being an integral part of all business units and brands of Mercedes-Benz worldwide.Engineer/ Sr Engineer: Product Planning - AggregatesKey Responsibilities:• Conduct evaluation of product, process, and assembly hierarchy to optimize hours per vehicle and cycle time.• Provide early-stage inputs to the Design team on Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).• Perform detailed product studies and define assembly processes considering quality, safety, delivery, and ergonomics.• Associate part, tool, and quality attributes with process definitions.• Conduct preliminary line balancing, TAKT time, and cycle time planning.• Design small jigs and fixtures to support assembly operations.• Perform time studies using MTM or MOST standards (MTM certification desirable).• Suggest process enhancements or improvements by benchmarking with earlier product lines.• Manage projects with end-to-end responsibility for delivery, quality, timelines, and innovation.Required Skills and Experience:• Strong understanding of manufacturing engineering and assembly processes in the automotive domain.• Experience in assembly line planning, line balancing, TAKT/cycle time calculations, and process optimization.• Proficiency in DFA/DFM principles and time study methodologies (MTM/MOST).• Hands-on experience in designing jigs and fixtures.• Good knowledge of tools, part attributes, and quality considerations in assembly process planning.• 2–8 years of experience in automotive manufacturing/production engineering.• Strong analytical skills, communication abilities, and cross-functional collaboration.Educational Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering.• Additional certifications (good to have): MTM certification, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):• Exposure to automotive OEM/Tier-1 assembly environments.• Experience with international projects and cross-cultural collaboration.• Familiarity with Daimler processes, tools, or global stakeholder interactions.• Knowledge of digital manufacturing tools (e.g., process simulation, layout planning software).Why Join Us?• Be part of a purpose-driven organization that’s shaping the future of mobility.• Work on cutting-edge technologies and global automotive programs.• Thrive in a collaborative, diverse, and inclusive environment.• Access world-class infrastructure, upskilling programs, and learning opportunities.Equal Opportunity Statement:At MBRDI, we are committed to diversity and inclusion.
