Chemistry)Job Title: Lab ChemistDepartment: Laboratory / OperationsLocation: KoparkhairaneReports To: operation manager ,Laboratory In-Charge / Plant headJob SummaryThe Lab Chemist will be responsible for carrying out routine sampling, testing, and analysis of influent, effluent, and process samples at the CETP. The role ensures that the treatment process meets prescribed MPCB / CPCB norms by maintaining accurate test results, documentation, and laboratory hygiene.Key ResponsibilitiesCollect and analyze samples from various stages of the treatment process (inlet, outlet, aeration tank, sludge, etc.).Conduct physico-chemical tests such as pH, COD, BOD, TSS, TDS, Oil Grease, Chlorides, Sulphates, etc.Prepare and standardize chemical reagents and solutions required for testing.Maintain laboratory instruments such as pH meter, DO meter, spectrophotometer, COD digester, etc.Record, maintain, and update daily logbooks, test reports, and analysis sheets.Ensure test results comply with MPCB/CPCB discharge standards.Report any abnormal readings or deviations to the operation manager Laboratory In-charge or Plant headSupport process optimization by providing analytical data to the operations team.Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices within the laboratory.Assist in calibration and maintenance of analytical instruments.Ensure proper storage and disposal of chemical reagents and waste samples.Qualifications SkillsEducation: B.Sc. in Chemistry (M.Sc. Chemistry preferred but not mandatory).Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a wastewater treatment plant / CETP / ETP / chemical laboratory.Working in general shiftKnowledge of: Water and wastewater analysis, standard testing procedures (APHA), MPCB norms, and environmental standards.SkillsGood analytical and observation skills.Familiarity with laboratory safety and chemical handling.Basic computer knowledge for data entry and report preparation.Team-oriented with good communication skills.Work ConditionsWork involves handling wastewater samples and laboratory chemicals.Must follow all safety and PPE protocols while working.This job is provided by Shine.com
