Nambour State College is seeking two full-time Agricultural Assistants to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the school by providing high-level support for agricultural systems.You will be responsible for ensuring that the school’s agricultural field study sites, animals, crops, machinery, and equipment are maintained in a safe, secure, and functional condition.If you have a passion for agriculture and enjoy working in a hands-on environment, we encourage you to apply and become part of our supportive school community. Join a team committed to making a real difference.About The RoleAs the Agricultural Assistant, you will support the efficient and effective operation of the school by providing a high level of agricultural systems support to nominated staff. You will be responsible for ensuring that the school's agricultural field study sites, animals, crops, machinery, and equipment are maintained in a functional, secure, and safe condition.Our Ideal CandidateWhile not mandatory, it is highly desirable that our next candidate:Experience and confidence working with dairy cattle it would be an advantage if experienced with milking procedures and processes.Recognise workplace, health and safety concerns and report to their supervisor.Experience working with children (p-12)Your ResponsibilitiesAs the Agricultural Assistant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Support Agricultural Science teacher and students including;Working proficiently and safely in the cattle yardsFeeding/ watering/careChemical dipping/ spraying of livestockLiaising with VETs when medical support is neededLiaising with livestock transportation operatorsEnsuring Cattle yards are in good order.Please refer to the attached role description for the full list of responsibilities and mandatory requirements for this position.Interested?
