An exciting opportunity exists to join The Gap State High School as a Marketing and Events Officer.This part-time, temporary role, from January 2026 to July 2026, will lead the school's marketing portfolio, including promotion, event coordination, communication strategies, and sponsorship acquisition.If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.About UsAt The Gap State High School, we believe in learners who flourish. You will manage multiple tasks, work collaboratively, and promote the school in a variety of settings.Responsibilities IncludeManage the school events schedule, coordinating special events such as Award Ceremonies, Graduation, and Open Days.Plan and deliver creative strategies for events and enrolment campaigns by consulting with internal and external stakeholders.Liaise with management to implement and update the marketing portfolio, including the school magazine, newsletters, and sponsorship agreements.Identify and cultivate sponsorship opportunities, developing and maintaining positive relationships with sponsors.Foster strong relationships with staff and students, ensuring positive outcomes through communication and collaboration.Build and maintain relationships with community partners and industry groups to promote the school and enhance its visibility.Organise community-focused events with the P&C Association, including International Women's Day Breakfast, Mother's Day, and Father's Day celebrations.Oversee the purchasing, maintenance, and repair of marketing resources and equipment, adhering to government guidelines and departmental policies.Monitor and manage the marketing budget, ensuring proper application of school funds and compliance with purchasing processes.Draft, write, edit, and publish communications, including newsletters, brochures, school magazines, flyers, and prospectuses.Lead the coordination of annual school photography for staff, students, and facilities.Collaborate on the development and implementation of communication strategies using a range of media to promote the school.Ensure all digital marketing content meets quality standards and aligns with the school's visual identity guidelines.Establish partnerships with industry, business, and community groups to enhance the school's position and create new opportunities.Assist with specialist project activities, either leading or contributing as a team member to develop creative strategies for school programs and events.Please view the role description for a full list of responsibilities.Submit Your ApplicationAttach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant work history)Attach a 2-page response to the How you may be assessed section of the attached role description.We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.Applicants need to be a current Queensland Government employee to be eligible to apply.Applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.Occupational group Education & Training
