COMPANY: Leading Renewable energy companyPOSITION: Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Manager & Stakeholder RelationsLOCATION: Colombo, Sri LankaSALARY : Gross Rs 400K - Rs 450KOVERVIEW:Our client is seeking for a Stakeholder Relations & ESG Manager who will act as the central bridge between the company and key provincial, government, and community stakeholders. This position will play a strategic role in strengthening institutional partnerships, ensuring effective coordination with public entities, and embedding robust ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) practices across all projects. The role also involves driving advocacy, sustainability initiatives, and community programs that support GPSL’s long-term development objectives.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Government & Institutional PartnershipsBuild and sustain effective working relationships with Provincial Councils, ministries, and local government bodies.Represent the organization at high-level discussions, steering committees, and regulatory meetings.Oversee formal documentation, correspondence, and submissions to relevant public institutions.Support advocacy and policy engagement efforts to facilitate approvals, streamline processes, and strengthen institutional cooperation.2.ESG Strategy & Community DevelopmentLead the formulation and implementation of ESG frameworks across GPSL projects in alignment with investor expectations and compliance requirements.Design and supervise social impact and community development programs to ensure positive local engagement and inclusive growth.Monitor environmental and social performance indicators, grievance redressal systems, and CSR outcomes.Partner with technical and operational teams to ensure adherence to environmental and social management standards.3.Reporting & Cross-Functional CoordinationMaintain a comprehensive record of all government interactions, community engagements, and project-related correspondence.Prepare and present periodic reports on ESG performance and stakeholder activities for management, investors, and regulatory authorities.Collaborate closely with legal, communications, and project teams to ensure consistent messaging and compliance alignment across functions.PRE - REQUISITES:Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Public Policy, Development Studies, or a related discipline.At least 5 years of experience in stakeholder management, ESG implementation, or government relations — preferably within renewable energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.Proven track record of engaging with public institutions and local communities.
