This role is essential for delivering the highest standards of language education at key regional centers.Role SummaryWe are seeking dedicated and proficient German Lecturers to deliver comprehensive language instruction at our Kandy and/or Jaffna branches. The primary objective of this role is to teach German language courses (A1 to B2 levels) for students aiming for language proficiency certification and international opportunities, particularly within the healthcare or technical sectors in German-speaking countries. The Lecturer will be responsible for creating an engaging learning environment, ensuring high pass rates, and upholding the academic standards of the institution.Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction and Curriculum DeliveryConduct dynamic and effective German language classes for various proficiency levels (A1, A2, B1, B2) using modern, communicative teaching methodologies.Prepare engaging lesson plans, teaching materials, and supplementary resources that align with established European language standards (CEFR).Adapt teaching methods to cater to students with diverse learning styles and professional backgrounds.Assessment and Student PerformanceDesign, administer, and grade tests, assignments, and mock examinations, particularly those simulating international certification exams (e.g., Goethe-Zertifikat).Monitor student progress closely, provide constructive feedback, and offer individual support to ensure high student pass rates and successful completion of program milestones.Academic and Administrative SupportMaintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and grades.Participate in curriculum review meetings and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the German language program structure and content.Engage in professional development activities to stay updated on the latest German language teaching (DaF) techniques and cultural developments.RequirementsExperience: Prior experience (typically 2+ years) in teaching German as a Foreign Language (DaF), preferably within a recognized language institute or educational institution.Language Proficiency: Native or near-native fluency in German (C1 or C2 level) is required, demonstrated by formal certification (e.g., Goethe-Zertifikat C1/C2 or TestDaF).Education: A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in German Studies, Linguistics, Education, or a related field. Specialized training in DaF methodology is highly desirable.Skills: Excellent classroom management and presentation skills. Ability to use digital teaching tools and learning management systems (LMS).Attributes: High level of professionalism, cultural sensitivity, excellent communication skills in both German and English (or a relevant regional language), and a genuine passion for teaching and fostering student success.Location: Must be willing to be based and conduct classes at either the Kandy or Jaffna branch, as required.
