Job Description

Take the lead on complex civil infrastructure projects across the Waikato valued between $5M and $50M. Join a respected Tier 2 contractor recognised for delivering technically demanding water, wastewater, and structural civils projects.This is a career-defining opportunity for an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor ready to step up. You’ll manage full tender cycles from first principles, own pricing strategy and pre-contract control, and directly influence the contractor’s pipeline of major works across the region.Tallann Group has been exclusively retained to appoint an Estimator for this appointment. The company operates a flat structure, giving you autonomy, leadership visibility, and hands-on exposure across both tendering and delivery.The scopeManage end-to-end estimating on projects from $5M to $50MDevelop accurate first-principles estimates and bid submissionsPartner with senior leadership to shape tender strategy and risk controlSupport live projects between tenders, gaining project delivery experienceYou’ll bringProven estimating or QS experience in civil infrastructure (NZ-based)Commercial judgement and technical accuracyConfidence to lead multidisciplinary bids independentlyStrong communication, discipline, and initiativeOn offer$120K–$140K base + vehicle + performance bonusMentoring and direct progression toward Project ManagementControl, autonomy, and a stable Waikato-based pipelineThis is a retained assignment managed exclusively by Tallann Group under our Recruitment Project Management (RPM) model.
