Victor Energy Ltd is seeking an Estimator to join our team based out of the Nisku or Calgary area, working on various estimating projects throughout Canada. You must have good safety awareness, good communication & competent decision-making skills, and a desire to perform requested duties with a focus on safety and appropriate precautions. Victor Energy offers competitive wages and a comprehensive benefit package.RequirementsResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed and competitive cost estimatesReview RFXs, plans, specifications, standards, contracts, and other relevant documentsObtain costs for materials and third-party serviceReview and compare incoming quotesSelect suppliers and subcontractors quotes to be included in the final estimatePerform quantity take-offs from drawings and specificationsPrepare project cost based on client quantities or by quantifying the scope based on the drawings and specificationsMaintain organized records of estimates, takeoffs, and communication with third party vendors and subcontractorsEnsure completeness and accuracy of the final estimateCreate schedules and execution plans for bid submissionPrepare risk assessment and determine appropriate methods to mitigate riskRespond to post-bid clarificationsSupport project teams with estimates for change ordersCommunicate effectively with estimating/projects team, operations team, and all levels of managementWork closely with clients, engineers, and industry contactsWork with finance team to develop project budgetsUnderstand construction contractsEstimate several bids simultaneouslyTravel to project sites for RFP kickoff, site visitsWorks closely with Victor Energy Operations, Safety and Environmental teams for preparation of estimates and pre-bid schedulesQualifications3+years of estimating experience in construction, utilities or related industriesUnderstand and interpret construction documents, drawings, standards, and contractsStrong computer background including experience with MS Office, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and related softwareMathematical and analytical skills with attentional to detailAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to manage multiple priorities concurrently, ensuring all estimates are completed on scheduleWritten communication skillsBenefitsExtended Healthcare Plan (Medical, Disability, Dental & Vision)Group RRSPGroup Life - AD&D - Critical Illness InsuranceTraining & DevelopmentEmployee Assistance Program - Counseling
