Specialising in building, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects, we deliver innovative and efficient solutions to meet the evolving needs of the industry.Purpose and ScopeThe Engineer – Quantity Surveyor (Contracts) is responsible for managing the contractual and financial aspects of construction projects within the built environment. This role involves preparing cost estimates, tender documents, and contract administration to ensure value for money and compliance with project requirements. The engineer supports procurement processes, monitors budgetary controls, and collaborates with stakeholders to resolve contractual issues and ensure timely project delivery.Key Roles And ResponsibilitiesResponsible for payment / progress claims, variations orders claim, and assist the Contracts Manager in budgets, cost control and settlement of Final Account as well as maintenance of project documentationsReview of Employer’s Requirements from specifications and drawings and determine scope of work, costing structures and contractual requirements specific to the projectOther ad-hoc duties as and when assignedQualification, Skills And ExperienceDegree in Building/ Construction Management/ Quantity Surveying or its equivalent.Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in construction industry.Strong in arbitration and negotiation skills.Good understanding & knowledge of contracts law and its application.Preferably well versed in various form of contracts such as PSSCOC, SIA and FIDIC as well as other international form of contracts.Preferably conversant in using CostX and/or Glodon Cubicost measurement software.Strong communication and presentation skills.Due to the sensitive nature of the job, only Singaporeans will be considered.Our Culture at SembcorpAt Sembcorp, our culture is shaped by a strong set of shared behaviors that guide the way we work and uphold our commitment to driving the energy transition.We foster an institution-first mindset, where the success of Sembcorp takes precedence over individual interests.
