As BC faces economic challenges and workforce transitions, our focus is on building intelligent, cost-saving infrastructure that reduces operational waste, strengthens public systems, and unlocks new pathways for employment.At its core, Gaialink AI designs AI to serve life and sustainability, prioritizing both functionality and restorative impact.Role DescriptionThis is a contract hybrid role for an Executive Partner, AI Governance & Compliance, based in Greater Victoria, BC, with flexibility for remote work. In this role, the Executive Partner will oversee the development and implementation of governance frameworks to ensure ethical and regulatory compliance in AI systems.Responsibilities include analyzing and addressing AI risks, implementing governance strategies, monitoring AI compliance processes, and collaborating with stakeholders across engineering, legal, and external partnerships to uphold responsible AI development. Additionally, they will lead audits and provide insights to guide risk mitigation strategies.Engagement & CompensationThis is a strategic, equity-based partnership / project-based contract, not a full-time salaried position. Compensation will be in the form of vested equity and/or defined project-based fees, aligned with company milestones. This structure is designed for an experienced professional seeking to build a foundational pillar of a high-impact company.QualificationsProven expertise in AI Governance, Risk Management, and Regulatory Compliance frameworks.Deep understanding of the Canadian regulatory landscape, including PIPEDA and emerging federal/provincial AI legislation.Experience in Ethical AI, Responsible Innovation, and addressing Bias and Fairness concerns.Proficiency in Policy Development, Legal Analysis, and Stakeholder Engagement.A "builder" mindset, with experience creating governance frameworks from scratch.Strong leadership, decision-making, and collaborative abilities.Familiarity with AI ethics and sustainability practices is preferred.Master’s degree in Law, Public Policy, Data Science, or related fields; PhD is a plus.Certified Information Privacy Professional/Canada (CIPP/C) is a significant asset.How To ApplyPlease submit your executive profile along with a 2-3 page strategic outline detailing your 100-day plan to establish the AI Governance & Compliance framework at Gaialink AI.Your outline should focus on:Immediate priorities for Canadian regulatory readiness (PIPEDA, etc.).How you would structure the internal "Responsible AI" framework.Key risks to address in the first 90 days.📧 Send to: ali.reza.farshad.fard@gaialink.io
