Job Description

Job Purpose:Responsible for managing and overseeing all export logistics operations to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective international shipment of finished goods. The role ensures full adherence to export regulations, customs requirements, documentation standards, QHSE guidelines, and customer delivery expectations. The Export Section Head leads the export logistics team, optimizes processes, coordinates with internal departments and external partners, and supports the execution of strategic initiatives that enhance export performance and trade compliance. Key Responsibilities:Lead and supervise end-to-end export operations, ensuring accurate and timely preparation, verification, and execution of all export shipments. Ensure all export documentation (CI, PL, COO, BL/AWB, Form E/Euro1, packing lists, HS codes, certificates, etc.) is prepared accurately and in compliance with international regulations and customer requirements. Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure smooth cargo movement, securing best routes, rates, and transit times. Oversee container booking, space allocation, shipping schedules, and related documentation with shipping lines and forwarders. Monitor export order readiness with Production Planning and Warehousing to ensure tight alignment on delivery timelines. Ensure full compliance with international trade laws, export control regulations, customs rules, and country-specific requirements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Incoterms, international shipping regulations, import country restrictions, and documentation standards. Validate proper HS code classification, valuation, cargo description, and origin details across all documentation. Mitigate risks related to customs clearance delays, document discrepancies, and regulatory non-conformities. Track, measure, and analyze export KPIs: shipping accuracy, on-time export delivery, logistics cost per ton, document accuracy rate, vessel cutoff compliance, clearance lead time, etc. Identify export operational bottlenecks and implement corrective/preventive actions. Drive process improvements focused on reducing export cycle time, documentation errors, and logistics costs. Ensure proper utilization of ERP/WMS/TMS systems for export documentation, tracking, reporting, and analytics. Work closely with Sales, Production, Planning, Procurement, Finance, and Warehousing to ensure seamless export operations. Coordinate with banks and finance teams for LC shipments, DP/DA terms, and export financial documentation. Liaise with regulatory bodies, chambers of commerce, ministries, and inspection agencies as required.Lead, coach, and evaluate Export Logistics Coordinators and Documentation Officers to ensure high performance. Provide training on export controls, documentation accuracy, and customer country requirements. Set clear responsibilities, evaluate performance, and build team capabilities. Job Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering. 7–10 years of experience in logistics or supply chain, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or section leadership role.Technical competencies: Export logistics operations management. International shipping procedures (sea, air, land) and vessel scheduling. Export documentation mastery (CI, PL, BL, COO, Form E/Euro1, inspection certificates, etc.). Customs regulations, international trade compliance, export controls, and Incoterms. HS code classification, customs valuation, and country-specific documentation requirements. Freight negotiation, contract handling, and container management. ERP/WMS/TMS systems for export operations. KPI development, monitoring, and reporting for export operations. Cost optimization and vendor performance management. Cargo handling standards, packaging compliance, and QHSE in international logistics.
