Job Title: Field ArchaeologistLocation: The North Field Historic District (NFHD) airfield pavement surfaces at North Field, Tinian, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. 96952Position Type: Full-TimeSummary:We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Archaeological Project Manager to oversee and lead our archaeological monitoring and discovery projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of archaeological projects, from initial planning to final reporting, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and meet the highest quality standards. The Project Manager will also play a critical role in liaising with clients, field teams, and regulatory authorities.Key Responsibilities:WORK ELEMENT 1: Project Management, including weekly updatesDevelop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resourcesCommunicate regularly with clients, providing weekly updates on project progressEnsure adherence to project timelines and budget constraintsLead project kick-off meetings and regular team meetingsImplement a quality assurance plan to maintain high-quality project outcomesWORK ELEMENT 2: Compose Archaeological Monitoring and Discovery Plan & Site Safety and Health Plan (draft, revised draft, and final versions); Attend Pre-Field Meetings, Give Archaeological Monitoring brief to operatorsPrepare comprehensive Archaeological Monitoring and Discovery PlansDevelop Site Safety and Health Plans, prioritizing safety for all project personnelParticipate in pre-field meetings and brief field operators on archaeological monitoring protocolsWORK ELEMENT 3: Conduct Archaeological Monitoring Fieldwork and End-of-Fieldwork Letter (draft, revised draft and final versions)Oversee and actively participate in archaeological fieldwork activitiesEnsure proper documentation and recording of archaeological findingsPrepare End-of-Fieldwork Letters, including drafts, revisions, and final versionsWORK ELEMENT 4: Post-Fieldwork (laboratory processing and analysis)Oversee the transportation and processing of archaeological artifactsCoordinate with laboratory staff to ensure accurate analysis and documentationMaintain strict data integrity and confidentialityWORK ELEMENT 5: Reports (draft, revised draft, and final versions) and Other Deliverables (draft and final GIS data, updated archaeological site map)Prepare comprehensive archaeological reports, including drafts, revisions, and final versionsEnsure the timely delivery of all project deliverablesUpdate and manage GIS data and archaeological site mapsQualifications:A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Archaeology or a related field; Master's degree preferred1 year experience in archaeological project managementStrong knowledge of archaeological fieldwork techniques and best practicesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in project management software and GIS toolsFamiliarity with relevant federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirementsAbility to lead and motivate field teams and ensure adherence to safety protocolsStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsPowered by JazzHRVnLiWgSHQ1
