SMA Australia has a full-time opportunity for a Field Service Technician in our Large-Scale Utilities team. The position is remote ie, a mix of working in a field service environment and working from home. The position requires domestic travel around QLD, and covers areas such as Toowoomba. This candidate would ideally be based in Toowoomba, but we also welcome applicants from the surrounding region.About The RoleThe SMA Field Service Technician is responsible for providing second-level customer and field services technical support, with safety as the number one priority for our staff and our customers. Duties include developing & maintaining expert knowledge of Sunny Central family of products. Key responsibilities include commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, liaising with the Service Regional Lead for week to week Service activities & analyzing of Large-Scale solar PV systems.Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited ToCommissioning, troubleshooting, repair, & analysis of SMA inverters via email, telephone, & site visits.Maintaining and exhibiting very high safety standards in the workplace & on-site.Offering a high level of quality work resulting in excellent customer satisfaction, whilst striving to lower the costs of service.Maintaining a detailed knowledge of SMA’s accessories, & third-party accessories.Maintaining a working knowledge of the National Electric Code.Completing documentation & reporting for service cases.A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Ability to deliver services within project deadlines.What’s In It For YouWe offer a competitive salary and great company benefits and perks, such as an annual bonus and an additional 5 days paid leave at Xmas. KPIs apply with variable bonus reward and a recognition program.Experience & SkillsYou will hold a relevant electrical trade Licence - essentialAn Australian Drivers Licence - essentialAt least 5 years of experience in electrical, electronic and/or network communications are required Broad experience in a customer service role for power generation products (experience in the solar industry is a plus)CEC accreditation - desirableExperience with SiteDocs is an advantageCommunications experience with Modbus, SCADA, or other communication protocols.Ability to work remotely & independently.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)Commitment in complying with Safety, Health & Environmental policies & procedures including proper lifting techniques.Very good relationship management, problem solving & conflict management skills.Proficiency in the English language, both written & verbal.About UsSMA Solar Technology are a global renewable energy pioneer, facilitating access to clean energy through state-of-the-art technology.
