Collects, compiles, interprets, and disseminates information from daily performance reports of employees within field training. When not involved in direct field training, responsibilities include assisting in the in-service of new equipment and technology, continuing education, remedial training, and serving as a clinical resource for staff. Additionally, perform the functions of an EMS provider in daily operations.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesEffectively manages the scene of emergency and non-emergency calls by: assessing the medical care needed, determining the need and method of transportation to a medical care facility, administering medication as necessary, and ensuring a seamless transfer to hospital staff for continued care.Provide shift level oversight for students and candidates with regular meetings, remediation, commendation, and quality assurance methods to maintain the high standards of the Field Training Evaluation Program. Regularly reports to the FTEP Coordinator and the Director of Clinical Services regarding field training. Provide on-shift training and in-service for co-workers. Assist with New Hire Testing. Ensure the proper functioning of the emergency medical vehicle, all emergency medical equipment, and that adequate supplies of inventory are on the vehicle. Complete necessary state and local paperwork. Maintain a high professional standard by receiving regular professional development. QualificationsJob Qualifications:REQUIRED QualificationsHigh School graduate or equivalent.Possess at least 3 years of experience as a ParamedicHave a positive recommendation from a Field Supervisor and Director of Operations.Successfully complete the FTO Assessment Center.Maintains a rating of “Proficient” in all clinical measures. Has significant knowledge of company policies, procedures, and the company FTEP program. Have no disciplinary actions in the personnel file for the 24 months preceding appointment and receive no disciplinary actions after appointment.Requirements After AppointmentObtain Certification as a Nationally Certified EMS Educator within 1 year of appointment.Paramedics must attend and maintain the PLS certification.Obtain Certification as a BLS Instructor within 1 year of appointment.Maintain proficiency in all clinical measures.Maintain satisfactory yearly employee evaluations.Obtain ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800.Obtain NIMS 300 and 400 Certification.Must attend 80% of all scheduled trainings and meetings unless previously excused by the DCS Knowledge, Skills And AbilityKnowledge of: Company Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.Medical director approved protocols.Local area and ability to read and interpret local maps.National EMS Educational Standards.Current trends in the EMS industry.Ability to: Read and understand medical terminology.Write reports, and correspondence.Effectively present information and respond to questions regarding patient care, AmeriPro EMS operations and other customer service issues.Utilize personal computer systems including PCR reporting, email, and MDT applications.Utilize basic computer skills including MS Office.Supervise, motivate, and train subordinates effectively through positive attitude and compassion.Effectively communicate at all levels, both orally and in writing.Represent AmeriPro EMS and other team members as an EMS professional.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, stand, or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 180 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 300 pounds with assistance from others. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Working EnvironmentDue to the nature of EMS Care working conditions, employees may be exposed to inclement weather, potentially hazardous conditions, psychological stressors, diseases and other illnesses. Frequent interruptions, work pressure, difficult personalities and irregularities in the work schedule are expected. Employees are subject to continually changing deadlines, while performing the duties of this job. The employee will be occasionally required to attend meetings, some of which may take place outside of regular working hours.
