Job DescriptionEmbark on a journey in the Financial Reporting BU or Finance Operations BU within Finance SBU to be part of its endeavour to position itself as a dedicated and trusted partner, through the provision of expert advice and delivery of value-adding services to MCB and other stakeholders.We Are On The Lookout ForJob vacancies: Finance AnalystsAs a Finance Analyst, you will support the Finance Executive in performing accounting, consolidation, and financial analysis activities, ensuring compliance with established accounting principles, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in preparing accurate financial data, maintaining ledgers, reconciling accounts, and contributing to financial reporting and process improvements across the organization.In This Role You Will Finance Analyst – Financial Reporting BUCompile, consolidate, and analyse financial data to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reports;Prepare and review trial balances, statutory financial statements, and management reports in line with IFRS and internal policies;Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements and group-level reports;Collate and validate financial data to ensure accuracy and timely submission of statutory and regulatory reporting;Support the implementation and optimisation of financial reporting and data management systems;Provide financial insights to support management decision-making and strategic planning;Perform general ledger accounting, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments;Ensure that financial reporting activities adhere to IFRS, internal policies, and governance requirements, maintaining strong control and compliance standards;Contribute to the enhancement of reporting processes by recommending improvements that strengthen accuracy, streamline workflows, and reinforce compliance. Finance Analyst – Finance Operations BUManage fixed asset accounting, including register maintenance, asset capitalization, and depreciation tracking;Review and validate general ledger balances and related accounts to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of financial information;Support cost accounting processes, such as cost allocations and monitoring of prepayments, receivables, and payables;Conduct bank and account reconciliations and monitor outstanding items for timely resolution;Monitor and analyse budget variances, report findings, and recommend corrective actions;Perform regular reconciliations of GL and subsidiary accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly to maintain accurate financial records;Apply internal controls and compliance procedures in daily financial operations to meet regulatory, audit, and organisational requirements;Propose and support operational process improvements to optimise efficiency, reduce errors, and strengthen compliance across finance activities.To succeed, you will be required to demonstrate the following competencies:Analyzes complex financial information to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities;Collaborates effectively with team members and stakeholders to achieve shared financial objectives;Applies sound financial acumen and business insight to support decision-making;Adapts to changing priorities and continuously seeks to improve work processes;Demonstrates resilience, focus, and accountability in achieving high-quality deliverables.We are looking for candidates who have a minimum of:EitherA completed Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related;2 years of experience in accounting or financial operations within a corporate, banking, or conglomerate environment;Understanding of accounting fundamentals, IFRS, and financial control frameworks;Proficiency in Microsoft tools, for instance Advanced Microsoft Excel;Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.OrA Diploma in Accounting or Finance, ACCA Level 1 minimum or equivalent qualification;5 years’ experience in accounting or financial operations within a corporate, banking, or conglomerate environment;Understanding of accounting fundamentals, IFRS, and financial control frameworks;Proficiency in Microsoft tools, for instance Advanced Microsoft Excel;Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.A combination of both qualification & experience will be considered.Should this opportunity match your career aspirations, skills and competencies, click on ‘Apply’ to complete your online application.Please ensure all required information is accurately entered in relevant sections.
