We employ more than 3,500 people across our London, Southampton, Cardiff and Manchester offices.To support our growth, we are looking for a Finance Analyst to join the Group Statutory Reporting team. This role will primarily be involved in annual and quarterly financial report preparation for the Group and subsidiaries along with supporting on accounting developments as the Group expands.This is an entry level position and would suit someone who is wanting to take their first steps into the world of Finance. On an unrivaled growth path, Starling will provide the Statutory Financial Analyst with exposure to a wide range of learning and development opportunities.The role is not limited to Statutory reporting and includes a wide range of responsibilities including supporting the Statutory reporting team in data automation projects.We are looking for a candidate with a strong interest in developing their accounting standard knowledge and how to apply this practically. We also require someone with an analytical mindset, someone who is able to ask thoughtful questions, and looks to identify opportunities for improvement as they arise.Finally, alongside your day-to-day responsibilities, you will be expected to complete the ACA qualification with out of office support provided throughout your training alongside the requirement for significant self-study.Responsibilities:Assist in the production of the Group's annual financial statements and quarterly reportingSupport the statutory audits of the Group including the international subsidiaries and branchesAssist in implementing efficiencies and improvements in statutory reporting through data automationSupport the development of accounting models for new products and assist in implementing accounting processes where required (eg. EIR, SPPI test)Understand and reconcile output of key monthly financial processes (eg. expected credit loss and their impact on statutory reporting)Assist in the preparation of certain regulatory returns utilising statutory informationImplement strong controls and processes, including completing the review and sign-off of process documentationRequirementsA graduate with a relevant degree (or vocational equivalent), with demonstrable interest in the banking and fintech sectorA can-do attitude, belief in our vision, and a willingness to roll-up your sleeves and get stuck into anything and everythingTangible evidence of an underlying drive for a career in Finance Committed to pursuing and completing the ACA accounting qualification Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel is necessary.
