Job Description

The Finance Operations Team Leader oversees the daily reconciliation activities of ShopeePay, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions across internal systems, partner banks, payment channels, and regulatory reports. The role is responsible for leading a team of reconciliation analysts, resolving discrepancies, strengthening controls, and supporting continuous process improvements to maintain a highly reliable financial ecosystem.Key Responsibilities1. Daily Reconciliation ManagementOversee end-to-end reconciliation of wallet balances, withdrawals, deposits, merchant settlements, fees, and partner transactions.Ensure timely identification, investigation, and resolution of mismatches or unreconciled items.Validate all reconciled reports prior to sign-off and submission to Finance/Compliance/Partners.2. Team LeadershipLead, coach, and mentor a team of reconciliation analysts.Allocate tasks and manage team workload to meet daily deadlines and reporting requirements.Conduct regular performance reviews and provide guidance for skill and career development.3. Process & Control EnhancementStrengthen reconciliation controls to minimize financial leakage and operational risks.Drive automation and workflow improvements to reduce manual effort and increase accuracy.Document SOPs, guidelines, and internal controls to support audits and regulatory reviews.4. Stakeholder CollaborationWork closely with other relevant departments like Product, Finance, Fraud, Customer Service, and External Partners to resolve discrepancies or system issues.Escalate high-risk reconciliation items or financial exposure to management with clear action plans.Coordinate with Compliance and Audit teams to support regulatory reporting and assessments.5. Reporting & AnalyticsAnalyze daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation dashboards and variance reports.Provide insights and trend analysis to management for decision-making.Support month-end close activities and financial statements validation.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related fields.Certified Public Accountant is preferredAt least 5 years of leadership experience, preferably in financial reconciliation or Audit.Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in reconciliation, financial operations, or banking/fintech settlement processes.Demonstrated experience in driving automation initiatives, strengthening operational controls, and performing strategic reconciliation analysis.Strong understanding of payment systems, e-wallet transaction flows, merchant settlement processes, and financial control frameworks.Excellent analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Proficient in Excel, reconciliation platforms/tools, and ERP or financial systems.Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and external partners.
