Finance Specialist/Finance Officer

Job Title: Spécialiste en Finance / Finance OfficerMinimum Qualifications: Degree in Finance, Accounting or EconomicsMinimum Experience: 3-5 years Financial Management experience in retail/FMCGKnowledge, Skills & Abilities: Communication skills (verbal & written)Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:Administer and monitor the financial system in order to ensure that finances are maintained in an accurate and timely mannerImplement the set financial policies and proceduresEnsure that the set internal controls are implemented and maintained throughoutImplement financial risk management & controls that will maintain financial health of the organizationDeveloping external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, bankers and statutory organisationsEnsure transactions are properly recorded and entered into the computerized accounting systemEffective control & management of company assetsTransactions are properly handledTimely preparation and sharing of correct, complete & accurate sales invoicesAnalytical analysis of mark upRealisation of invoiced amounts, calculation of margins and comparison with budgetEnsure that accounts receivables are paid in a timely & accurate mannerReconcile the accounts payable and receivablesEnsure that periodic bank & payment reconciliations are completedScrutinize all the supporting documents to ensure accuracy and authenticity.Ensure timely & accurate processing & filing of statutory payments i.e PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, VAT, WHT, Corporate Tax etcMaintain an orderly accounting filing system & a system of controls over accounting transactionsEnsure security for all company cheques and always verify chargesAccurate and timely preparation of financial management accounts.Ensure compliance with local government on financial reporting requirements and tax compliance.Maintain schedules supporting the balance sheet itemsPreparation of monthly, quarterly and other periodical treasury plansMaintain a vendors registerEstablish, maintain and reconcile the general ledgerManagement and control of cash-flows, working capital and budgets.Assist with preparation of the budgetEstablish and maintain cash controlsMonthly preparation and analysis of budget Vs Actual costManage the filing, storage and security of documentsRespond to inquiriesMaintain insurance coveragesEnsure Issuance of permits and licensesContinually inspire, motivate and develop finance Intern(s) to understand what is expected of them.Avail all the documentation and information as required by the auditorsMaintain a healthy, positive and seamless working relationship with all stakeholdersProactively develop own skills and knowledge of relevant best practice and ensure appropriate skills and knowledge transferActively and consistently maintain high standards of professionalism in all aspects of personal presentation and deliveryFollow through to ensure that personal quality and productivity standards are consistently and accurately maintained including meeting all deadlines.Ensure data integrity of all reports to client and managementDemonstrate consistent application of internal proceduresPlan and prioritise, demonstrating abilities to manage competing demandsDemonstrate abilities to anticipate and manage changeDemonstrate flexibility in balancing achievement of own objectives with abilities to understand and respond to organisational needsKey Competencies:Analysis & problem solvingFinancial acumen Teamwork &collaborationCommunicationOrganisational commitment AgilityPerformance & results drivenContinuous growth & improvementResilience & stress managementService excellencePlanning & prioritisationQuality & detail excellenceCritical thinking
