The Company's premises are at Allianz House, Elmpark, Merrion Road, Dublin 4.JOB PURPOSE/ROLEThe Financial Accountant, reporting to the Finance Manager for special transactions, will oversee complex inward and outward reinsurance activities. Responsibilities include assisting in assessing new complex transactions, providing input and/or project management to ensure all key stakeholders are aligned and delivering timely and accurate financial reports to both internal and external stakeholders, supporting month-end procedures, preparing regulatory returns, and contributing to internal Allianz Group reporting.The Financial Accountant is pro-actively driving processes and provides expert input to it. The Financial Accountant is a key point of contact for special transactions and supports colleagues in their development. The Financial Accountant understands the underlying business processes and can conceptionally define the required accounting, tax and reporting treatment.The role is within a continuously growing company and team and provides plenty of opportunity to grow and develop in the field of finance and reinsurance. It also offers opportunities to work on diverse projects within the Allianz group.The candidate can expect not only the experience of a multi-national company and the variety of a major financial services group, but also an attractive package including a competitive salary, bonus, pension contributions and further benefits.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe role will include:Pro-active communication with external retrocessionaires and financial investorsUnderstanding, investigating and delivering on requests from external stakeholdersManage work assignments independently from start to completion as well as being able to define and solve problems independentlyPrepare Statement of Accounts based on external requirementsAnalytical review of complex technical underwriting dataEvaluating, summarising and presenting technical underwriting results to internal and external stakeholdersCollaborating in a global team and managing relationship with different internal and external stakeholders including Allianz Group, Allianz Re SE, cedents, vendors, banks, clients, local authorities etc.Identifying and driving process improvements to ensure efficiencies maintained within the teamDrive self-knowledge of the business, systems, and outputs to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the accounting functionWorking under different accounting regimes: IFRS and Solvency IISupporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsAssist with training, coaching, and developing junior staff members.Supporting the year-end external audit by responding to auditors’ requests for information and documentation, providing input to and reviewing the Company’s Financial Statements;Supporting Solvency II regulatory reporting (input, review, testing of QRTs)Supporting and delivering on internal audit requestsKEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCEQualifications:ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, CMA qualified accountant/analystExcellent skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)Experience:Relevant working experience (2+ years post qualification) in the financial services sector – preference given to (re-)insurance firms and/or Big 4 audit firmsSolid understanding of IFRS17/Solvency II and its practical implementationHighly motivated and strong “getting things done” delivery mentality used to working in a self-organized wayVery strong solutioning capabilitiesStrong communication skills and ability to manage upwardsPrevious knowledge of SAP favouredStrong analytical skills and curiosity to expand own field of expertiseExperience of coordinating and delivering accurate output with multiple deadlinesAllianz Group is one of the most trusted insurance and asset management companies in the world.
