Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial and HR business services to all business areas within the company.About The JobYou will be part of the Belgian accounting team, which is responsible for both internal and external financial reporting for four operational sites in Belgium: Ghlin, Eupen, Lichtervelde, and Raeren. These sites include one Remelt facility, one Die shop, and two Extrusion locations. Reporting is done per location and per business activity, resulting in a total of five separate reports submitted to the head office. While collaboration across sites is essential, the role will be primarily based in Raeren.What You Will Be DoingEnsure timely and accurate internal reporting of monthly and yearly results per location/entity using SAP S/4HANA, Blackline, and Hyperion (HFM)Prepare and manage external reporting requirements including VAT returns, Intrastat, Intra-Community Performance (ICP), and statutory annual accountsDrive standardization, continuous improvement, and transformation initiatives within GBS FinancePerform monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including payroll accounts, using BlacklineCollaborate with the Shared Service Center in Hungary to standardize SAP accounts for the Belgian locationsAdditional InformationInitial temporary (1-year) contract with the possibility of a permanent position.We are primarily looking to fill this position full-time, but we also welcome applications from candidates who are available to work part-time at least 4 days per week.What We Offer YouWorking at the world’s only fully integrated aluminum and leading renewable energy companyA supportive and experienced team that values collaboration and professionalismAn informal and friendly working environmentOpportunity to contribute to impactful financial transformation projectsPossibility to grow with the company, gain new certificatesAttractive benefit packageWhat will make you successful?Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum 3 years of experience as a Financial Controller or AccountantBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or AccountingSolid understanding of GAAP and financial accounting statementsFluency in English (spoken and written) is required; French or other languages are a plusHands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4HANAAdvanced proficiency in Excel and database managementPersonal SkillsStrong customer service orientation and service mindsetHigh attention to detail and accuracy in financial reportingStrong organizational skills and the ability to perform well under pressureExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to support regular interaction with other locations and our Shared Service Center in HungaryExcellent conflict handling abilitiesReady to take the next step in your finance career?Apply now and help us shape the future of financial excellence in Belgium.Hydro values diverse skills and perspectives among employees.
