Senior Financial & Reporting AnalystLocation: Mississauga, ON (On-site)Salary Range: $75,000–$90,000Reports to: ControllerIndustry: Food ManufacturingThe Senior Financial & Reporting Analyst will play a key role in supporting the Controller with financial reporting, month-end activities, accounting analysis, and the development of reliable reporting tools. This position is ideal for an analytical professional who enjoys working with data, improving processes, and supporting decision-making across a fast-paced operational environment. The role also provides leadership and guidance to junior accounting staff.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & AnalysisLead month-end close processes, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and internal management reports with clear analysis and commentary.Produce and validate weekly and monthly reporting, including revenue reporting, inventory valuation proofs, and margin analysis.Review location-level financial performance and provide insight into variances, trends, and operational drivers.Assist in developing profitability reporting for production items and other management-driven KPIs.Support the budgeting and annual operating plan processes by providing required analyses and data validation.Accounting & Transactional SupportInvestigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, reconciling issues with AR, AP, inventory, and ERP-related data.Oversee and support daily posting activities for AR and AP as needed.Please make sure that the accounting treatment of transactions and compliance with internal financial controls.Prepare supporting documents for year-end audit, tax filing requirements, and ongoing regulatory submissions.Liaise with external auditors and ensure the timely completion of audit requests.Reporting Development & Process ImprovementBuild, enhance, and maintain internal reporting tools to support financial transparency and operational decision-making.Analyze data from multiple systems and ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across financial reports.Identify reporting gaps and opportunities to streamline the creation of monthly and weekly reports.Participate in financial modelling and due diligence for new initiatives, capital projects, and potential M&A activity.Collaboration, Communication & LeadershipPartner with various departments to understand financial results and respond to information requests.Provide training, guidance, and support to junior accounting staff.Demonstrate strong communication skills, presenting information clearly and professionally to internal stakeholders.Collaborate effectively to maintain positive working relationships and contribute to departmental goals.QualificationsCPA designation (or in progress) preferred;Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance required.Strong analytical mindset with proven experience handling confidential financial information.Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with ERP systems is an asset.Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with sound judgment.Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and communicate financial information effectively.Professional attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and willingness to learn in a dynamic environment.
