Matrix Aviation Management has more than 20 years of experience providing safe, reliable, and cost-effective aviation management services in some of the world's most remote and challenging environments.MATRIX AVIATION MANAGEMENT is a drug and alcohol-free employer.MATRIX AVIATION MANAGEMENT is seeking experienced Flight Operations Personnel to ensure safe and efficient helicopter operations to support the needs of our client's project. This is a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off or 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotational position with fully remote camp accommodations.Job Requirements:The Flight Operations Personnel schedules and oversees the movements of all field crews and facilities the transportation of required resupply, various freight and equipment to and from project site(s). To ensure the safety of all crews, the Flight Operations Personnel will provide consistent flight overwatch, while maintaining regular communications with aircrew and field crews. This role acts as central coordinating for general day-to-day operations utilizing helicopter support, as well as support in the case of an emergency.Flight Ops Personnel are housed at the project camp site and reports to MATRIX AVIATION MANAGEMENT Helicopters Operations Manager, who provides general direction and support.Responsibilities:Coordinates and schedules helicopter operations support for a variety of programs including drilling, environmental, exploration, and tour programs. Facilitate the coordination of aircraft activities a focus on safe and efficient operations. Aircraft radio operations - acts as a centralized communication point between ground crews and aircrews. Ensure that all communication devices are charged and operationalProvides specialty aviation activity updates to onsite aircrew (surface, air, blasting warnings and drone operation advisories). Host daily toolbox meetings, ensuring good communication and daily field planning is facilitated between aircrew and ground personnel. Maintain detailed data records of flight, personnel and cargo movementsWork in co-operation with all flight crews on constant basis throughout the operationAssign the aircraft according to the client needs in order to maximize the efficient use of all aircraftKnowledge of passenger and load capacities for a variety of helicopter types will be requiredCoordinate and monitor logistics of the movement of parts, supplies, materials, and personnel transported via aircraft from staging locations to remote site-based locationsEnsure prompt receipt and delivery of equipment to and from contracted OperatorsPrepare and maintain various reports on the progress of flight activity using manual and computerized systemsComplete administrative support functions including creating and distributing daily, weekly and monthly reports at the direction of reporting Manager. Audit daily flight records per aircraft to ensure accuracy in operations. Daily aircraft fuel tracking and reconciliation by fuel location. Track all personnel in remote areasCheck-In times to be scheduled with all crews (check-in protocol may vary with projects but must be established)To initiate and coordinate a search in the event of an "overdue" aircraft, or other emergency operationsAircraft tracking protocols must be followed per Operator(s) proceduresImplement Emergency Protocols - if requiredSupport site Emergency Response Plan (ERP)Initiate medical evacuations as instructed by onsite Incident Command and Medical Care ProfessionalsUnder the direction of Matrix Aviation Management, work with onsite Management and Health and Safety supervisor(s) to facilitate and execute "mock Medevac" and other aviation training requirements. Advise pertinent personnel of any operational concerns that may impact operation including operational delays, payload restrictions, equipment severability and ground support concernsExercise and maintain joint responsibility with contracted Operators for operational control in all matters affecting safety of flightsResponsibilities may vary according to project requirementsRequirementsPreferred Knowledge & ExperienceROC-A Aviation Radio License (may obtain upon hire)Experience working in a flight, travel, or logistics for remote based operation, with preference given to those with experience in mining environmentPost-Secondary Diploma in aviation, travel, transportation, business, or supply chain managementDemonstrated capability in organization skills and multitaskingStrong computing skill; MS Office (Outlook, Word & Excel)Experience in record keeping, tracking, planning and schedulingExcellent organizational and planning skillsOrganizational and problem-solving abilitiesConflict resolution skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsHighly motivated, team-oriented individual with attention to detailAbility to work on a rotation scheduleAble to work and maintain a high level of performance during a 12-hour shiftAbility to work in remote locations, with varying climatesAdditional AssetsAviation industry experience an assetMining and Exploration experience focusing on drilling, logistics, and remote operations experience an assetTransportation of Dangerous Goods experienceBenefitsSchedule & LocationLocation: Project locations vary and will be discussed with qualified candidatesShift rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off OR3 weeks on / 3 weeks off - length of rotation will be based on project and operation location. Shift: Shifts are based on a 12-hr daySeason: May - October 2026 (with possible extension). Accommodations - accommodations vary depending on project deployment. Travel Arrangements - paid travel days. Commercial flights and transportation to site are arranged by employer. Salary RangeSalary - Competitive compensation reflective of experience and qualifications.
