About The ProjectThe Ōtaki to North of Levin (Ō2NL) highway will dramatically improve safety, resilience, and efficiency, while increasing transport choices for a growing population. The project is being delivered in partnership with NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, Muaūpoko Tribal Authority, local hapū of Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga, and Horowhenua District Council.This is a transformative infrastructure project being delivered using a two-alliance model. Our shared project principles include treading lightly on the whenua, building strong partnerships, and delivering an enduring legacy. We’re looking for great people to join us on this unique journey.About The RoleThe Foreman is responsible for coordinating and supervising construction activities, including supervision of construction, personnel and subcontractors, while ensuring quality and HSE standards are met.Key TasksPlan the weekly/monthly works, in consultation with the Superintendent, agreeing work targets with safety front of mind.Control and motivate the workforce and manage the employee disciplinary process as and when necessary (refer to the authorities section);Assess and allocate priorities in conjunction with the Superintendent as necessary;Supervise Subcontractors as directed from time to time.Organise construction activities in accordance with work schedules and specifications;Ensure that all equipment, material and people resources are effectively utilised in accordance with the construction program so that construction activities are completed on time and within budget.Closely liaise with the Superintendent regarding the procurement requirements of the project; ensuring adequate time is given to procure materials;Ensure that construction materials are stored in a safe and secure manner.Timely submittal of daily diary and other site performance information as requested by Site Management;Promptly advise management of any issues that could be variations to the contract and keep accurate records of such issues;All safety incident reports/NCR’s to be recorded and reported to the Superintendent in a timely manner;Plant damage forms to be completed and reported to the Superintendent in a timely manner.About YouTrade qualifications relevant to the construction industry.a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in similar positionsSound working knowledge of HSE requirements and implementation of same.Strong and proven ability to lead, direct and manage groups of diverse employees.Physically fit.Excellent communication skills.What's on offerExcellent remuneration package including 6% Kiwisaver and medical insurance (for those eligible)Work in a diverse environment with a culture that is collaborative and supportiveWe offer a supportive team culture which encourages forward thinking, innovation, and our passion for making great ideas workFull-time permanent work on multi-disciplinary diverse projects Don’t tick all the boxes but still keen?We know that great people come from all kinds of backgrounds.
