SummaryScout is hiring a Founding Head of Marketing to lead our go to market strategy, scale our creator pipeline, and build the Scout Ambassador Program into a global community engine.About ScoutScout is a social network for travel. We are solving the following problems:The Authentic Advice Problem: Travel advice today is often generic or commercializedThe Decentralized Problem: Great travel info is scattered across platforms and citiesThe Lost Advice Problem: People lose their plans and itineraries in several appsIn Scout you search by city, filter by interests (optional), and get a tailored discover feed of the best advice and things to do. All of the posts are also pinned on a map so you can browse visually. Additional features include Scout AI, which returns AI advice and relevant community insights, dedicated city guides, and group chats per city. Content can be saved to your Plans and shared with others who are also interested in your itinerary.We launched in 10,000 cities with over 2,000,000 insights summarizing what people are already saying online so Scout is useful on day 1. What You Will Lead • Full go to market strategy for Study Abroad Students and Digital Nomads • Micro creator partnerships across TikTok and Instagram • The Scout Ambassador Program, working with a coordinator to scale it • Community seeding and early city based launch playbooks • Top of funnel growth loops driven by social and organic content • Ongoing refinement of channels, positioning, and acquisition strategyWhat You Will Do • Build and run high impact content programs across TikTok and Instagram • Develop partnerships with creators, ambassadors, and community leaders • Launch scrappy campaigns that drive awareness and city level traction • Coordinate city launches and shape local community activation • Run lightweight experiments to understand what resonates • Influence product direction through direct collaboration with the CEO and CTO • Evolve and improve Scout’s go to market and community strategyWhat You BringYou do not need to match every bullet. These describe the type of person who will thrive in this role. • Experience in growth, marketing, or community at a startup • Ability to build and execute scrappy, high impact campaigns • Strong fluency in TikTok, Instagram, creators, and culture • Intuition for trends and what resonates with people • Experience traveling abroad, with Europe preferred • High agency, high energy, and comfort owning outcomes • Ability to operate independently, move fast, and communicate clearly • Comfort working in ambiguity and shaping direction as we grow • Experience with ambassador programs or creator ecosystems • Ability to manage or coordinate small teams such as ambassadors or freelancers • Excited to join a startup at the earliest and most ambitious stage • Please reference the phrase “hidden gems” in your application so we know you read this carefullyYou will work directly with the CEO and CTO and will influence product, brand, and strategy from day one. You will help define how Scout enters cities, builds community, and grows toward millions of travelers. Our values center on authenticity, community, and adventure and this role brings those to life in everything we do.Compensation and EquityYour compensation will follow a two part structure. During the period before our next capital raise, this role includes a limited monthly stipend. After the raise, compensation transitions to a competitive full time salary. We are open to candidates based in either the United States or Europe and salary levels will adjust based on regional norms.In addition to salary, this role includes meaningful early team equity in the form of stock options.
