The ideal candidate is a French speaker with a strong understanding of localization standards and technical subtitle requirements for Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms.Responsibilities:Linguistic Review: Evaluate the accuracy, grammar, spelling, and cultural appropriateness of the French subtitles compared to the original English dialogue.Technical Compliance: Ensure all subtitles adhere to technical specifications for OTT platforms, including character limits, line breaks, reading speed, and font requirements.Synchronization: Verify that subtitle timings precisely match the audio and on-screen action within the video content.Contextual Editing: Review subtitles within the visual context of the reality TV show to ensure natural flow and correct speaker identification.Feedback & Reporting: Document all errors, provide actionable feedback for the translation team, and maintain consistent quality across projects.Requirements: fluency in French (target language) and strong comprehension of English (source language).Proven experience in translation QA, subtitling, or localization for digital media/streaming platforms.Familiarity with CAT tools and subtitle editing software (e.g., Ooona, Swift, EZTitles).Deep understanding of French cultural nuances and contemporary slang/idioms as used in reality TV.Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
